I saw her eyes widened in shock. I must be a creep right now, asking her out of nowhere. I didn't have the time to explain things to her. I have players to kill and tokens to steal. My domain needs me every passing second I wasted here.
Her eyes went back to normal, and something from her smile sent all my fine hairs to stand on end.
"Yes." She beamed before she showed me her hands that were tied by those resisting cuffs or whatever its name was.
<[Skill Canceling Shackles]>
Without another word, I had Lucy cut those cuffs. The blade aimed for her wrists, wanting to cut off her entire hand. Good thing that my grip on its hilt prevented it from doing unnecessary things.
Control yourself. You'll get plenty later. I mused to it.
The funny thing, though, was that the girl didn't seem scared that she was almost left without hands. Maybe she was confident that it'd grow back with a healer?
Is that right, System?
A healer sure is handy. I said to myself. Maybe I should find one or threaten one into joining me?
My thoughts were disrupted when the girl launched herself forward and hugged my arm tight. Her neon green eyes reminded me of toxic waste spilled on water, and the way she looked at me was like a cat that would bite in a few seconds.
She was definitely not normal. I thought to myself. But no matter. Her ATP was low that she didn't pose a threat.
"My name is Florin, master."
"You can just call me my lord." Like everyone else.
Florin's eyes shone from dull liquids of green to shimmering emeralds. "Yes, my lord."
I was glad that she was quick to catch up. However, I was surprised that there was no notification popping up on my screen.
They're like double edge swords, then? I don't like the fact that they could betray me at any time.
System, do you have something in the shop that could rectify this?

Haa . . . there's a number now.
I was about to buy it, considering that I have a lot of points with me right now, when shouts pierced my ears.
"Hey! We're talking to you!"
"What do you mean rot?"
"Aren't you going to help us?"
Oh. I forgot about those guys. I thought to myself.
The series of questions hurt my ears, and I didn't even know why I still answered.
"Why is it my responsibility to help you again?" I asked, and they all held their tongues for five seconds before another wave of screams and curses burst inside the room.
"You bastard! Motherfucker! We'll scream if you don't let us out of here!"
"Please help us! We're fellow humans here–!"
The screams and cries suddenly cease when one swipe of Lucy, all their head fell to the carpeted floor.
Agh . . . finally, peace and quiet. I mused to myself as Tokens and gil started pouring into my inventory.
Counting my haul, I was left disappointed even though I knew what I would get. I was betting I was wrong, but It seemed that hope was a vile thing to have.
Hope isn't a useless emotion, System. Without hope, I have long gone disappeared from this world. That piece of crappy emotion is keeping me from the grave.
"Uhm . . . My Lord. . . I think we should get out of here. The guards will find the silence strange and will come here soon."
"Agreed." I didn't spare another glance at the dead people on the ground as they burst into particles and proceeded to move to the door.
"My Lord, how are we going to get out of here?" she asked me with a worry free tone.
"I'm thinking of teleporting out, but since you're here, I can't just leave you behind."
Florin's eyes widened before she looked away and smiled. "I-Is that so?"
Why are you happy that you're being a hindrance to your Lord?
"Anyway, first things first." I snatched the [Evil Accessory of Doom] in my inventory and threw it at her. "Eat this."
Florin looked at the piece of glowing dark stone on her palm before shifting her eyes to me. There was no emotion on her face as she swallowed the stone in one gulp. Her expression told me that she could care less about what would happen to her.
I wonder how she became what she is now. There was something disturbing about her that I couldn't quite put a finger as to what exactly. Not that I was interested enough to ask. She was just another minion to me.
A flower bead of headband appeared on Florin's head, highlighting her long green hair with strakes of pastel pink. She seemed more beautiful with the accessory on her hair. If only she could keep the crazy look in her eyes to herself.
"T-thank you, my lord . . . ," she stuttered. "No one has ever given me anything before. I will never remove this in my head, and I will treasure this forever."
I wonder what she'd feel if I told her that her head would explode if she ever betrayed or harmed me.
But anyway, I wasn't planning on telling her in the first place. I didn't want obedience out of fear for their life. They could quickly turn their backs on me to save theirs. Her actions would determine whether she's fit to be by minion or not. Rewards were waiting for loyal servants, and death only awaited for those who have deceitful hearts.
