Chapter 32 - Building my Home 2

"Shall we start?"

"Yes, my Lord."

The rain was getting heavier, and even with the thick fog that settled, I still saw the subtle way that Daedalus eyed Athena at the side.

I assumed they knew each other since they were both Greek gods and all.

But I wasn't interested in Greek history nor their history, for that matter, as there were more important things to accomplish.

Their personal history could wait.

I clapped my hands to get their attention. "Okay, let's start by assigning roles to each of you.

"The first order of business is to build a fence around the perimeter. However, we need tools to forage for materials first." I addressed Daedalus and asked, "Can you make a simple hammer and axe?" He was a master builder, so I assumed that he could build anything.

Daedalus nodded with a blank look on his face. I sensed that he didn't like me asking about his capabilities.

"Yes. Just bring me a log and stone, and I'll do the rest."

"How about the fence? Can you build it without a blueprint?"

Daedalus's rocky brow lifted. "If it's just a level one fence to keep low-level beasts at bay, then yes."

"Good. What and how many resources do you need? And how much time do you need to finish it?"

"I need one thousand logs and five hundred stone blocks," Daedalus said the second I finished my question.

"That many?" It was more than the resources of my house.

Daedalus merely blinked without a change of expression. "I have considered the size of your house and your farm. Building around that area required a lot of materials. However, I can expand it in the future if you want to add other facilities. Or do you want me to build a fence in your whole property on the get go?"

I shook my head. That would even take a lot of materials and time. "I leave the size to you." I didn't have any background in building things, so I'll leave it in the expert's hands. "As well as these."

I gave all the blueprints to Daedalus.

"I want all those blueprints build inside the fence, except the shops. I wouldn't need that at this point in time. The important thing is I have food readily available at a meters walk." I didn't have a refrigerator to preserve food, then having a vegetable farm or chickens near my house would solve most of my food problems.

Besides, Blood Rain doesn't affect animals and nature. So they're safe outside.

Come to think of it . . . Do vegetables grow here at a rapid rate, or do I have to wait for months for them to harvest?

That's good news. I double-checked the world again. The log said it was the first month of spring, and I was thinking of tomatoes and cucumbers. Maybe a salad for the next seven days while the Blood Rain was raging on.

Daedalus merely skimmed over the blueprints without flinching. It wasn't a challenge to him since those were simple facilities, a level one building for a master builder like him.

"Ask everything you need to Iskemo and Coco." I looked at my lumberjack and miner. "Coordinate with Daedalus and gather everything that he needed."

Iskemo readily nodded while Coco yawned. I could already see the disparity between A grade and B grade tokens.

I looked over at Daedalus once more. "Give me an estimate. When will everything be ready?"

"If I'm going to build this all and considering that resources are readily available, it would take me two weeks. But if there's a shortage of resources, then three weeks."

I knew in reality that it would probably take months. Reality and fantasy were blurring before me, but I didn't care.

"As long as you can finish it less than a month before the blood rain arrives." I stretched my arms. "And don't worry, I'll help in foraging as well."

"However, I couldn't wait that long without a roof in my head. Can you build simple barracks first? Nothing fancy. Just woods put up together to shelter us in the night."

Daedalus nodded. "Yes, my lord. I will finish it within an hour." He then looked over at Iskemo and Coco. "Bring me fifty logs and ten stones first."

The two nodded. Iskemo was running towards the forest while Coco took his time to reach the foraging area.

I shook my head at the two retreating figures.

I was glad that Daedalus had a sense of leadership, and he didn't wait for me to order him on what must be done every step of the way.

S grade tokens and above sure was a whole level than lower grade ones.

"I'll leave the buildings in your capable hands then," I said to Daedalus. "After you finish with the tools, give me a hammer and axe so I can start foraging myself."

Daedalus nodded before he asked, "What is the overall theme of your territory, my lord, so that I could have a guide on the aesthetics."

I thought for a while before saying, "I don't know anything about architecture, so why don't you pair the building's facade with the colors around white, gold, and blue?"

Daedalus didn't need to ask anymore as he got to work.

Good. I like that he got my point with just little clues.

No. I just like those three colors.

After I addressed Daedalus, I went to Ulysses next.

By the way, system, could summoned tokens get sick and need food?

I wish I were them. I thought. Those barracks were probably useless to them since they didn't sleep but I couldn't possibly have them stand outside every time of the day and be exposed to rain and sun, especially if it was going to rain blood for seven days.

I mused to myself before facing Ulysses.
