The library was shrouded in silence, the only sound the faint crackle of the fireplace casting a warm glow over the ancient bookshelves.
Lilith, Amon, Avilyn, and Kiana sat around the large wooden table, the worn, leather-bound book that Avilyn had given them open in front of them. The words, faded and delicate, were scrawled in an old, almost forgotten language.
"We have to decipher this," Lilith said, her voice firm despite the uncertainty lingering in her eyes. "If we're going to understand Albaz and what he wants, we need to know the whole story."
Kiana nodded, leaning forward to study the pages. "I can read some of it," she said. "My time in the fairy kingdom gave me a little experience with this language, but it's not perfect. We'll have to piece it together."
