Amon woke up abruptly at 2 AM, his mind still foggy from sleep. He turned to his side and saw Lilith sleeping peacefully, facing him. Strands of her hair had fallen across her face, and he gently brushed them aside, wanting to see her face more clearly.
A soft smile played on his lips as he planted a tender kiss on her forehead, grateful for the rare, stolen moments they had together.
As he pulled back slightly, Lilith began to stir. Her eyes fluttered open, and Amon instinctively pulled her closer, her head resting against his bare chest. "Are you alright?" she murmured, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Just making sure you don't accidentally look at me," Amon replied softly, his voice a mix of protectiveness and caution.
