Chapter 12 - Let Us Agree

Ever since they were curious as to what Lilith is, all of them went to the library of the Kingdom of Gehenna. Since Angeal's assumption of Lilith being a fairy, they went to read books concerning of that lore and mythical creature.

Angeal has studied literature and of course, knows this pretty well. With the other also aware of other mythical creatures for being an immortal, they have not encountered fairies much so they now want to research about it.

Fairies come in many forms, and have been described as "magical and mischievous beings from the realm next door".

This realm, Avalon, is considered another dimension or reality. Fairies have been classified into two groups - one consisting of light fairies and the other dark ones. However, there have not been many details about identifying fairy classes.

Fairies, despite having different types, have some form of society and justice system called the Fairy Tribunal. This court decides on the fate of beings that break the presumably existing laws of their kind.

This is not limited to fairies, as seen when a fairy named Gilda brought her former human enslaver to face their tribunal. Fairies, despite being different kinds, all seem to cooperate with each other.

They appear to be sensitive to "energy", as one of them made the comment that "fairies are all about energy".

In addition, it seems they also suffer from arithmomania, a mental disorder that may be seen as an expression of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Sufferers of this disorder have the overwhelming impulse to count their actions or objects in their surroundings.

Because of this (and regardless of how powerful any fairy may be), it must stop what it is doing to count every grain of sugar or salt, one by one, if someone pours it in front of them.

Humans can interact with them and ask for favors; appeasing them by leaving a bowl of cream. Cream affects fairies in the same way that alcohol affects humans, rendering them intoxicated if they eat it.

They claim to possess abilities (which they consider to be "real magic") that surpass those of angels and seem unafraid of them.

Fairies can be summoned by spells to make deals with humans, often exchanging their services for a price (i.e. the rights to all of the firstborn sons in an area). Once called upon, a fairy will remain in that area until banished by a spell.

Faeries appear as beautiful creatures with pointed ears and glossy thin skin. This is however just an illusion to appeal to the dominant species of their current dimension.

In reality they are much less attractive, appearing similar to wood elves or goblins. Faeries are super-humanly strong and durable. They possess longevity but are not outright immortal.

Faeries are extremely attractive to humans as well as to vampires. Vampires have a hard time resisting faeries because of their smell and taste; fairy blood is intoxicating to vampires.

This makes face to face interactions between them all but impossible. When a fairy dies a corpse is not left, just a sparkling powder (or fairy dust); the body just disintegrates.

Faeries are secretive about their own race, customs, interactions, and world. They normally inhabit the fae world, named Faerie, but there are portals and doorways between it and the human world. Those who have fairy blood in them but are not full-blooded fairies have limited fae powers, while maintaining some of the attractive qualities of fairies.

"Hmm..."

Dharvey showed what she was reading to the others, every one of them now peering over her shoulder to read what she has found. It has indeed piqued their interest as they read the succeeding qualities of a fairy.

Fairy Blood Abilities

Intoxication - Any vampire that drinks fairy blood becomes intoxicated with it, going into a state humans would describe as "drunk". The amount of drunkness displayed by a vampire depends on the amount of fairy blood the vampire drank.

Attraction - Fairy blood smells very appealing to supernaturals, especially vampires. The blood also increases the physical appeal of fairy hybrids and their descendants.

Fairie Perception - After drinking blood from a Fae other beings can perceive the effects of fairy magic.

Immunity To Fairie Magic - When a vampire has drank the blood of a faerie, they are immune to faerie magic including spells and are capable of seeing them when they broadcast themselves invisible.

Vampire Weakness Negation - Depending on the amount of blood drank, vampires grow immune to their weakness to sunlight after drinking fairy blood. The effects last shortly, however, and the pureness of the blood is a factor too; after drinking a hybrid's blood.

Supernatural Blood Type - Faerie blood has been known to contain the elements Mercury, Neon, Titanium and Francium. Even the universal blood type -O has been unable to heal just a halfling.

"The blood type..." Nevin mumbled to himself, remembering Lilith. "What if it's because of her blood that makes it difficult for her to heal especially that she is a young little girl?"

"That could be a possibility," Ava commented, furrowing her brows together. "Other than that, she is still in the process of growing so what if her powers of being a fairy—if she is a fairy—has not yet awakened?"

Everyone went silent. At the same moment, Amon, the Grim Reaper, appeared in the library the moment he has been given word by a chamberlain that Eucraick is summoning for him.

"This is about Lilith?" he asked immediately, everyone nodding as they seem to be finding clues about her.

"We think—" Heraleen started, Amon's attention on her. "—that Lilith may be a fairy."

Amon didn't know whether to believe them. As they were sure that they don't have clues yet, what makes them say that Lilith is a fairy?

"We will tell you why we think so thus far," Eucraick said, already knowing why Amon is silent. Before he talked though, Nevin spoke for them to reach the same decision.

"Before that, however, let us agree that the children will hang out with her. Not only for the purpose of finding out what Lilith is, but also for her to have friends and for her to feel like she belongs in the same age group.
