"I would like to discuss about something with you, Mr. Thaddeus. That is the reason that I came to ask for your presence out of the blue which is not very polite of me, apologies." Mr. Vargas said.
"Very well, let me hear you," he said, fixing his suit.
Felicity was blinking, creating a 'cute' impression for Narcester, she eyed up him, somewhat ogling him from his abdomen to his face. Noticing how this is, Narcester felt very uneasy by her stares yet he proceeded to talk to her father to keep himself professional.
"You see, I want to propose a deal with you, Mr. Thaddeus." he once again spoke.
Narcester was getting antsy with him not getting straight to the point, with also his daughter ogling at him, Narcester had nothing to do but keep his composure.
"The thing is, Mr. Thaddeus, my daughter here seems to be interested in you. Since Felicity will turn 23 by next week, I suppose we could make her enjoy her day," he said, Mr. Vargas' eyes schemed of something. It had a sinister look deep in it.
"What do I have to do with your daughter's enjoyment, Mr. Vargas?" he said politely, he knew where this is exactly going.
Felicity's eyes marbled with excitement. She continued to stare at him as his spine shivered with discomfort.
'This darn father and daughter creep my skin out.'
Mr. Vargas then started to get to the main point, at last. "Go with my daughter to date, Mr. Thaddeus. I'll handle all the preparations. We're friends, after all. In that, I will give a higher amount of share to Thaddeus Entertainment." he said, trying to convince him.
Cilion Vargas is very notorious as a Filipino sham in the lands of Greece. Like a charlatan, his promise was all false, feigning how he had money is really outrageous. Who would exactly believe that? After all the years, Mr. Vargas only continued to hang on the spikes to keep his notorious self and gain fame. He uses absurdity of actions to swindle money off companies and bring them down to bankruptcy. He might be an absurd human, but he had a wise way of tricking the Presidents of many companies to fall into his traps.
Narcester raised his eyebrows, he crossed his arms and replied with a deep voice. "I suppose you're not making a deal with me, Mr. Vargas. You're speaking out of peremptory."
Mr. Vargas looked at him with amused eyes, he gave awkward laughter, scratching his nape. "Apologies, Mr. Thaddeus. I just want to make my daughter happy."
Felicity smiled at her father and once again averted her focus back to Narcester. Narcester sighed heavily, he shook his head as his hand touches his forehead, it's stressful being with the two.
Narcester looked at his watch, it was 6:00, and he needs to get home before 7:00. He looked at the two and crossed his legs, he eyed both of them. Their right elbow rested on his knees as his left arm lay on the couch's backrest.
"And? Am I a subject for her happiness? Can't you make your own daughter happy? Do you lack that capability, Mr. Vargas?" he said in a stern voice, his eyes were austerely glaring at them both.
"N-No, Mr. Thaddeus but—" Mr. Vargas tried to make an excuse but Narcester cut him off, he's not finishing yet. Cilion Vargas can feel the cold sweat rushing down his back, with those heavy glares, it's like a monster had come to threaten him.
Felicity was never talking, she knew how dire Narcester Thaddeus could be, but to her he was perfect, she likes him.
"You're responsible for your daughter, Mr. Vargas, not me. Your impulse annoys me, do you know not that I have a wife? If you don't, then, I shall say this once to you and I hope you remember it. Maybe because of old age that has gotten all over your head." he said. It was really insulting.
Mr. Vargas gritted his teeth at him with an angry look, insulted he was and angered by how he was humiliated in front of his daughter. Felicity can't do 'help', she's too caught up with Narcester that nothing will get her focus out.
"I have a wife. Do remember," he said, emphasized by strong sternity. Mr. Vargas trembled with impulsive anger. He stood up and pointed at him as he yelled. "How dare you, Narcester!"
Narcester looked at him with innocent eyes, he rested his chin on the palm of his hands and replied with a tedious tone in his voice. "What did I say?" he bluntly said, pure lack of interest shown on his face.
"I will pull out my investments and shares in this company!" he threatened.
Narcester scoffed as he slowly stood up, "Good luck with that." he said patting his shoulder. He went away and took his coat that was hanging on the backrest of his seat and casually looked at his watch.
'It's 6:35 now, I wasted my time. I have to go home as promised.'
"I am one of the biggest shareholders of this company! Thaddeus Studios will fall without the sponsored funding from me!" he said as he continued to yell as his words become inaudible noises only.
"Dad, stop, you can't do that!" she said, full of concerns devoted to Narcester. If that happens then she will not be contracted for Thaddeus Studios anymore.
Narcester scratched his head in exasperation, he shouldn't have anticipated that the old man would shut up if he told him something that could cheer his old brains up.
'This old man is brain-numbing.' he sighed heavily. He stepped closer to him, his coat hung in his arms he beamed. "My company doesn't need you or your money. You're in Greece, Mr. Vargas, do as the Greeks do."
He said and went out. He looked again at his watch, 6:42 on the clock. He ran down the stairs instead of using the elevator. He sure will be late once he does.
Reaching the first floor, he came close to a guard, "Take the old geezer out my office, now. He is not allowed in this place anymore."
"Yes, sir." He rushed out to the parking lot, being late must be the worst crime he would commit, he believes.
Avyanna was looking at the view in the garden, feeling the flowers that touched her small fingers. Avyanna was relaxing herself, shortly at the moment, she realized how her brazed heart have been healing, away from her father's scratch.
She nudged at a small yellow flower that was blooming in a little pot. Looked at them with tender eyes. Oh, how she wished that like the flower she'll bloom one day, be shone upon by showering love she deserves as she failed to get.
A gardener approached her, she gently tapped Avyanna's shoulders and spoke. "Greetings, ma'am. Do you like that flower?"
She smiled at the old woman and nodded gently. The woman smiled at her and averted her eyes from it.
"Do you know what flower this is, ma'am?" the old woman spoke, she had a loving tone in her voice, Avyanna had never heard a tone as sweet as hers.
All she heard from her household was the yelling of her father every time she reprimands a maid. Those annoying loud shouts of noises ring through her ear-piercing it, she has always been sensitive to loud noises.
She shook her head in response to the old woman, she's quite shy and she can't speak, no one talked to her like the old woman does. Certainly, she felt that this woman is a mother, something she didn't have since she was nine.
"Then, I suppose I should tell you." the old woman patted her head and looked back at the flower, the sun shone on it like a superstar being embraced by the spotlight.
"This is a yellow peony. Narcy got it for me for my birthday to grow in his garden. He didn't know what it meant and picked it out of nowhere, surely the flower isn't meant for me. Its meaning doesn't define me but you." she said.
"Me? Meaning?" she was confused.
"It has various meanings, I would define it only for youth. Would you like to know?"
She nodded with a "yes". The woman stared at her and spoke once more. "It means romance, good luck, compassion, prosperity, and..." she looked straight at her curious eyes.
The last meaning was clearly meant for her — no, for them. "A blissful marriage." the old woman spoke softly. Those loving eyes caught her eyes glimmer, marbled with the feeling of something she can't tell.
