Avyanna awoke from a feeling of someone eyeing her, a face appeared in front of her, she was pretty. "Dana, don't annoy her." Narcester's voice sprung up.
He was at leaning to his table, arms crossed looking at the woman in front of her. "I still gotta be polite to my sister-in-law, don't I?" the woman spoke.
She stood straight and looked at Avyanna with a beam. "Hey!" she waved.
"Hey, what?" Narcester raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, shut up, Narcy..." the woman frowned and hissed at him. He scoffed and cast a grin.
'Narcy?'
She looked back again at Avyanna and wore a big smile. "I'm Dana Mariann Thaddeus, your sister-in-law."
Avyanna cocked her head in confusion, the woman sighed and spoke once more. "You're pretty dense, aren't you?"
"You're stupid as well, Dana." Narcester chuckled.
"I'm not talking to you, Narcy!" she growled at him. Narcester continued to tease her, he scoffed and mocked her by mimicking the way she speak. "I'm not talking to you, Narcy!"
He gave a soft chuckle, he looked at the woman and raised an eyebrow as it followed a smirk. The woman once again averted her attention to Avyanna.
"Such an annoying little brother, ain't he?" she said, trying to convince Avyanna to agree.
Avyanna could only cock her head through confusion. Her head still hurts from the incident today, Avyanna sat up frantically. She remembered that she was filmed before, if her father would know about the weakness she portrayed at the entrance and created a scene, her father would certainly reprimand her.
She stressed herself out as she started to get anxious, Dana was confused with her, she did not know what just happened earlier. She tried searching for her phone beside her, she knew she had it.
Narcester sighed and spoke, "It's alright, Avie." Avyanna looked up in his direction as he gave that reassuring look on his face.
He came close to her and patted her head, "Everything's alright. I took down the filming, don't worry." he reassured with a smile.
Avyanna looked at him, smiled relieved, she sensed that she could trust the man who was before her. A feeling she vaguely felt from before, but when this man came into her life, she thought maybe trusting him won't be that penalizing as she believed.
Dana rubbed her eyes of disbelief from what she saw, no matter how much she look at it, she can't seem to find her little brother, Narcy. All that was there was a 'different' Narcester.
Dana coughed, pretentiously, interrupting the moment. "Is this where I exit?"
Narcester stood up and looked at his sister, he smiled, forcibly though unctuous, sham grin. "I think this is where you die." a facetious smile followed after.
Dana could only roll her eyes. She looked at Avyanna and smiled again, "Would you like to go shopping with me? I think we can get that stress you're feeling off you."
"It's stressful being with you." Narcester contradicted. She once again rolled her eyes, she seemed exasperated by her brother.
"What do you say?" she said ignoring Narcester. Avyanna thought for a while and nodded. Narcester who had high hopes had lost all of it as he saw her action.
He remained silent, though he wanted to give her a tour around the company and hopefully would boost her esteem, Dana had already raced him up first.
Dana's satisfied smile of victory against her brother annoyed him very much. She just took off with his wife while he had plans and agenda with her for the day. He just sighed and sat back in his seat to do his continuous work.
Walking out the corridors, the loud noises and continuous blabbering Dana does didn't annoy her she loves it very much. Avyanna always wanted to have a sister, someone she can rant to and tell stories to.
They've arrived at the mall whereas Dana started to be more lively. She picked a bunch of clothes from here and there, looking at Avyanna and wondering if it fits. Then she'd hop to another and do the same thing.
"Uhh...t-this is kinda..." Avyanna scratched her face in worry when she saw the people looking at them.
Dana looked behind to see the same, she rolled her eyes at the staring people, looked back at Avyanna, and smiled.
"No one would care," she reassured with a smile.
"But..." Avyanna hesitated.
"Look, I am Dana Mariann Thaddeus! I am a Thaddeus! I don't give a fuck to anyone who judges me with their stares and whisper to people about my judgment. I say, they should say it to my face to face and I'll smack their faces." she nodded with a satisfied expression like her words were the most encouraging thing ever.
Avyanna blinked twice, she forced a smile, hesitatingly. A phone rang and Dana was sure it was hers, she groaned and took her phone out of her purse.
A notification popped out, it was a message from Narcester.
[Narcy's ass: Hey, I'm letting you know that Avyanna's anthropophilic, move her out from big crowds or return home if you must. Don't get her in trouble because of you.]
She looked at Avyanna and gasped, "Shit, did I do something?" she whispered to herself.
She exhaled and spoke, "Should we go to a cafe after paying for these? You might be hungry. There's a lot of people here." she beamed.
Avyanna was filled with confusion, "I thought..." she hesitated.
Dana dragged her out of there into the cashier, after paying, as she said, they arrived at a cafeteria and rested from that hectic walking around. Avyanna's feet feel sore after all the walking and hopping around in the mall with Dana.
She massaged her foot as she waited for Dana at the table, Dana arrived with Iced Latte in her hand and Iced Americano on the other.
She sat down and handed the Americano to Avyanna, she was surely a shy woman and hesitated to take it. Once done with the drink, Avyanna and Dana departed from the cafe back to the company building.
In the entrance, the people hovered and peeked through a certain scene that was happening. Over by the reception, a woman with dark, straight, silky hair was clinging to — her husband.
Dana was confused, why was there a girl clinging to her brother when he has a wife? Avyanna walked slowly to Narcester as Dana followed, she doesn't want to ruin their conversation and bonding so she decided to inform him that she was leaving.
"Avie..." he said as he saw her, he tried to shrug the woman off yet he failed. Avyanna approached and hesitatingly spoke.
"U-Umm...I think I should leave," she spoke softly. Dana was surprised, she looked at Avyanna shying away.
"Well, would you mind staying for a bit?" Narcester said. Avyanna looked at him and nodded.
Narcester looked at the woman clinging unto him and sighed, "Avie, this is Felicity Vargas from the Philippines. She's here to sign a contract with us. She's my friend abroad, and Felicity this is Avyanna, my wife." he introduced.
Felicity eyed her up and down, brows raised as if bragging. "This is your wife, Narcy? I heard she's unemployed."
The tingling anger rushed through her but before she could speak for her defense, a husky, deep voice rung through as it voiced.
"She's employed as my wife."
Felicity scoffed, "That's not even a job, Narcy."
Narcester raised his eyebrows and looked at Felicity who continued to cling to his arm. Noticing the clenched fists Avyanna had, he knew how to read her well.
"She hadn't started 'work' yet. But some nights, she will." He grinned and walked away.
Both women were astounded. To Avyanna, it's outrageous it was that had her speechless — both of them were.
Avyanna felt annoyed by his answer, she decided to follow him. Dana cast a smirk into the air, arms, the woman, Felicity looked at her with an annoyed expression. As soon as she noticed the looming eyes of the Filipina, she instantly placed her hands down.
She widened her eyes, forced a gauche smile, and raised her hands to the air, walking away.
