"Yes, it is! You are mine, woman!" He snapped back at her and that's when Axel grabbed his wrist and gave him a deadly look.
"You don't get to talk like that to her. Let her go." Axel told him in a tone that suggested that he was giving him a warning.
"If you don't want to get punched in the face again, then I suggest you let me go." Levi told him in a threatening tone.
"You got lucky because I wasn't expecting it before, but you won't be so lucky this time." Axel told him in an equally threatening tone.
They glared at each other.
Plumeria jerked her hand away from him.
"Let me go! You don't get to barge into someone else's home and act like it's yours." She told him angrily.
He took a deep breath and looked at her with a calmer expression. He took out his hand for her.
"Come on. Let's go. You don't deserve to be in a relationship with a man who threatens to kill you." he told her.
She realized that he thought that Axel was her boyfriend, but in her anger, she didn't bother telling him that.
"So what?" She asked him. "It doesn't change a thing. Now get out."
"Fine. Then I'll report him to the police." He told her.
"I JUST SAID IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" She yelled at him.
Axel looked at her, surprised.
Levi clenched his jaw and nodded, looking at her while feeling enraged on the inside.
"As you wish. Best of luck with this barbarian." Levi told her and left the apartment in anger.
He went to the elevator and called it up to his floor.
While waiting for it to come up, it curled his hand into a tight fist.
He took out his phone and called his secretary.
"Where are we on the investors' list?" He asked her as soon as she answered his call.
"I got the complete list ready." She told him.
The elevator doors opened.
"Good. Get me a meeting with all of them as soon as possible." He told her and ended the call.
He went inside the elevator, and the doors closed.
"Let's see how long you'll keep that attitude." He said in the empty elevator.
•••
"Who the fuck was that?" Axel asked, closing the door.
She gave him a frustrated look.
"Apparently your soon to be brother-in-law." She told him.
"That jerk? What are your parents' evenings thinking about letting you get married to that idiot?" He asked her, shaking his head in disappointment and anger.
"In his defense, he doesn't know you, and from his angle, you did look like someone who was about to throw me out a window." She told him and held his face in her hand to inspect his wounds.
"You don't even know him for a day and you're already defending him?" he asked with his one eyebrow raised.
"Jealous, Dr. Axel?" she asked with a grin.
He rolled his eyes at her.
"I'm just worried about you." he told her.
"I know." She told him. "You should put some ice on it because it might swell and some ointment on that cut. Do you have a first aid kit?"
"I'll do it myself." He told her.
She nodded.
He took a few steps away from her when he turned around and looked at her with a smile.
"Oh, and thanks for taking my side earlier." He told her.
"You're my little brother. I will always take your side." she told him and smiled back at him.
After he went to the bathroom, she went to his bedroom and started to organize the boxes there. He later went to the bathroom and organized his things there.
In the afternoon, they finished putting his things away and were sitting on the sofa waiting for their food to arrive.
"That was way quicker thanks to you." he told her.
"You owe me a homemade meal." she told him in an exhausted tone.
"How long did you sleep?" he asked her.
"The usual." she answered.
"Take a nap." He told her. "I'll wake you up when the food gets here."
She nodded and went to the bedroom to sleep. If it was some other day, then she would've declined, but doing all that work tired her out a lot.
As soon as she hit the bed, she fell asleep.
…
She was lying on the soft grass in the arms of her lover and was looking at their star in the night sky.
"They look so beautiful and free." She said in an envious tone, looking at the start.
"You are much more beautiful, my love. Just give me a little more time. I promise I will come and take you away. When you'll be my wife, you'll be free to do whatever you like and go wherever you like." he promised.
She looked at him and kissed his cheek softly.
"I can wait for you even for a hundred years. You are my love for life." She told him.
He smiled at her and kissed her lips gently.
Suddenly, there was a lot of commotion near them.
"There they are. Catch them!" she heard a man say.
They both got up. She looked at him in fear as a group of men approached them.
"Get behind him and when I tell you to run, you run as fast as you can." he told her and pulled her behind him.
She looked at the men approaching. When they got closer, her heart dropped because they were her father's men.
"They found out. My parents found out about us." she told him in fear and turned him around. "You need to run. If they catch you, they will kill you."
"I won't run from anyone. Maybe this is our chance and I can convince them to let me marry you." he told her.
She shook her head in fear
"They won't. They would never allow me to marry you." She told him.
He wanted to comfort her, but two guards grabbed him and two more grabbed her. He tried to fight them off, but there were too many of them and beat him badly.
"No! Let him go!" she cried, seeing him getting beaten in front of her. "Stop hurting him!"
She tried to get away from them, but she couldn't. She was helpless and couldn't help him.
…
Plumeria woke up gasping for air. Her cheeks wet with air. She looked around, confused. She wasn't herself. Her whole body was tensed up in fear.
"Noah." she said his name in fear.
She quickly got out of bed and, without wearing her shoes or getting her things, she ran out of the apartment.
"Plumeria!" he called after her, seeing her dash out like that.
He grabbed his wallet, and jacket before he ran after her. She had already taken the elevator and was on her way down. In order to catch up with her, he took the stairs and ran to the first floor, but he was again too late. She had already hailed a taxi and was going away.
Axel quickly hailed a taxi and got in.
"Follow that cab." He told the taxi driver.
The man nodded and followed the taxi Plumeria was on.
Axel was worried something bad happened the way she left his house.
\-\\-\
Plumeria wasn't herself. It was like she was a completely different person because she could only think about him. She was worried sick about him. She had the opportunity to meet him once again, and she wasn't going to let it get away from her.
"Please, hurry." She told the driver.
"I'm driving as fast as I can, Miss." He told her.
She nodded and bit her bottom lip anxiously.
They were just a bit away from the company when they got stuck in traffic. She couldn't wait anymore, so she got out of the car and ran towards the company while crying uncontrollably.
"Hey! Pay for the ride!" the taxi driver called to her in anger.
"Plumeria!" Axel called after her, but she didn't stop.
He quickly paid for his cab, and the cab that Plumeria took before he ran after her.
She soon reached the company, she saw Levi talking to someone.
While crying uncontrollably, she slowly walked inside. Her steps left a trail of blood on the white tiles because her foot got cut as she was running barefoot, which she didn't notice.
The people in the lobby looked at her and whispered as she walked closer to Levi.
The man who was talking to Levi saw her walking towards him looking dreadful.
"Umm, sir? You better turn around." he told Levi.
Levi frowned and turned around to see why. When he turned around, he looked in shock at Plumeria as she looked at him while crying miserably. He looked past her and saw the bloody footprints he left.
"What happened?!" he asked her and ran towards her.
She ran up to him and hugged him tightly, and cried her heart out.
Levi was so confused and flustered at the same time.
Logan just got out of the elevator when he saw Levi hugging a woman, who was crying miserably. He walked closer and saw that it was Plumeria.
"What the hell happened here?" Logan asked in a loud tone, seeing her future daughter in such a miserable condition, but no one knew.
Axel just entered the building and saw her hugging him.
"Plume-" Levi was about to ask her again, but she cut him off.
"I love you." She told him.
He froze in shock at her sudden confession. He hated her, but hearing her say that she loved him made his heart flutter.
