The woman walked into the house and dropped her bag on the table. Aunt Margaret, as May usually called get stepmother looked around the room briefly before walking to the kitchen.
She turned on the tap and washed her hands first, when she was done cleansing her hand, she turned around and opened the fridge. A second later, a frown curled up on her face, she straightened her back and glanced around the kitchen.
Her eyes darted back and forth but, since she did not see what she was searching for, she walked out of the kitchen and went upstairs. She stood before May's door and knocked on it. She waited briefly but got no response. She frowned and knocked again.
Still, no response.
She knitted her brows and knocked a couple of times more. She still got no response. She held the doorknob and pushed it, fortunately, the door opened and she walked into the room.
