That day at work, May tried to persuade Lena to cut out more stones and see what good was there but Lena rejected her. She could only listen to her best friend and attended to other things. She knew that it would be risky for both of them if words got out that they had rare stones in their store.
Later, when evening came, and it was time to leave, Lena looked up at May and called her, "did you say you are busy today?" She asked.
"Mm, I have to go to a place," May told her.
"Alright then, I will see you tomorrow. I will just go home directly and try my hands on some new designs or, I might modify my old designs too" Lena explained.
May nodded and wordlessly agreed. She would have loved to be with her best friend that day but she had something that she must do that day too.
"Do you want me to drop you off or...?" Lena suggested.
"No, thanks. You don't have to drop me off, I already called a taxi and it's on the way" May explained.
