Chapter 53 - 54- Talk with Katrina

-

Adel was still stunned as he stared at Katrina in front of him.

When Katrina saw Adel standing in a daze, staring at her entire body without a hint of lust, she was a bit frustrated.

She didn't want him to pound on her. But, at the very least, he should be drawn to her, right?

She pouted cutely with a cough, enhancing her beauty even more, and angrily said to Adel, "Where have you been? It's this late at night, and you've only just arrived? "

When Adel noticed her flushed face, he snapped out of his trance.

It had a pink hue to it, which made her incredibly attractive to Adel...

He sighed, shook his head, and then told her the words that he'd already thought of beforehand.

"Here..." He smiled as he continued, showing her the Dracha coins he'd gotten from selling a few things (on his way to the alchemy alliance)"... I bought these Dracha coins for us. As for why I went out of my way to get them..."

Adel gave her body a thorough look before exhaling a sigh and continuing, "... I heard there are some ice mountains that are ideal for dates. So, how about we go have some fun out there? We haven't had any fun in a long time. You know... just the two of us. "

Katrina was stuck in her place, her thoughts racing madly, imagining every possible scenario that could happen between them while they were alone.

Adel chuckled softly as he placed his hand on her chin for a split second before quickly removing it.

He continued on his way to the diner hall, while Katrina, who had been in a daze when Adel touched her, quickly realized what had happened and followed him.

She was, however, perplexed.

Adel has not always been so romantic in the past, so what happened, and why only now did he start becoming like this?

Previously, he wouldn't look at her at all, no matter how many advances she made to help their relationship progress.

But now... He even boldly asked her out on a date.

It came from him, not from her!

He could be classified as one of those dense men who see literally naked women in front of them but sleep, believing that the women in front of them prefer to sleep naked.

Could it be that a change in his heart occurred while I was away from him the last time? —Katrina smiled as she reflected on her thoughts, thinking that the future she would have with Adel would be similar to the dreams she had in her childhood...

Adel had a change of an entire soul, not just the heart, so she wasn't far off...

That would not be accurate. However, the two souls merged, and his from his previous life monopolised over the existing one due to the massive comparison of strength.

When she caught up to him, she put her hand on her shoulder, causing Adel to turn to face her.

She nodded at him as they continued walking towards the diner hall...

-

The various disciples had grown accustomed to seeing Adel and Katrina's visits to the diner hall, so it was no surprise that they didn't mind Adel and Katrina.

Besides, they wouldn't offend Katrina over something as insignificant as going with a boy her age to the diner hall, even if she gave him some nurturing.

They were surrounded by gossip, but the people who were spreading it wouldn't say anything to them directly.

Other young masters in her clan were in the same boat. They wouldn't come and confront Adel about her decision to stay with Katrina.

Why would they dwell on this matter if her parents didn't? Katrina would be irritated if they went to cause trouble with him.

Katrina's actions led them to believe that she was either nurturing him or that he was an honorable guest for the clan, which even she had to entertain.

Who among the young masters would be so foolish as to publicly offend someone? They knew she was the patriarch's favorite child, so it was like a child asking their parents for a beating if they did.

This was, of course, done in public. In private, each young master has been paving their path to becoming patriarchs by launching attacks on one another and doing whatever comes to mind.

Are they evil or good? Do morals give you enough clout in society's hierarchy? Heh, of course not.

Only the most gullible of the common people would believe it.

As such, most young clan masters sacrifice some of their own morals in order to gain more power. Either cultivation, or political power.

They were worried by Adel's presence, believing that he was a variable in their plans to become patriarchs.

So they attempted to track him down when he left the clan, hoping to either make connections with him if he were an honorable guest, or secretly take him under their wing if he were a talented young man.

After all, connections with the favorite child of the patriarch also mattered, right?

But, could they catch him if he used his disguise technique after he'd left?

It simply wasn't possible. So all they had to do was wait for the right moment to strike.

-

Soon, after they finished eating while also conversing with each other, they left as they both went to their dorms to stay the night in them...
