Chapter 65 - Me they will get

What is the best way to find out who defeated Masaru? When she asked him, Masaru told her that he couldn't see the person's face.

'When I tried to focus on his voice, I became dizzy.'

Masaru's opponent must be a power user. If that is the case, then maybe she can narrow it down if she gets hold of a list of power users.

Her thoughts broke off hearing the sound of somebody getting beaten. A group of guys was surrounding somebody hunched over.

Sumire sighed deeply. Really? Bullying so early in the mo- She froze when she saw indigo-colored hair.

The last person she expected to find being beaten up was none other than Masato. However, she recalled what Masaru said when he woke up briefly last night. 'It seems like they will target anybody who is close to you, lady.'

Sumire's gaze dimmed as she clenched her fist. She was already holding back from running out of the house yesterday and beating up those guys who hurt Masaru. But now they are even going after Masato, who has nothing to do with the underworld.

"Ru, hold my bag."

"Wait, Ki- I can-"

She shook her head, and her lips curved to a smile. "It's me they want? Then it will be me they will get."

Yuhi managed to calm her down, so she no longer felt tense. But she still felt irritated. Whoever hurt Masaru must be the same one who gave these people orders to hurt Masato. So, in other words, she can direct her pent-up anger from last night toward them.

It did not take long before the people beating Masato up were on the ground in a much worse condition. Since they are close to the school, she will only do this much. But she was half tempted to beat them until they were half dead.

Right now, they were weakly crawling on the ground, clenching their stomachs, arms, and legs.

The one who hurt Masato the most is the one clenching his arm right now. Maybe she should have torn his arm off- her thoughts broke off when Mamoru coughed.

Ah, she shouldn't get distracted. Sumire quickly turned to her friend on the ground.

"Are you alright, Masato?"

At those words, Masato exhaled deeply. "You know, being saved like this makes me look really uncool."

Sumire laughed as he accepted her hand and helped him up. "It's alright. I was already irritated."

It's a shame that she can't do anymore, but she has to have some self-control. This is the hill leading up to the school. Since Mamoru and her are late, there are barely any students around now. But it is still risky.

"Irritated? Oh, you mean what happened to Masaru?"

"You know already?"

"He called me at a rather unreasonable time in the morning to give me a warning."

"Then-"

"But then gramps called me in to help with the store. When I saw them lurking around near the shop, I didn't want to drag my grandpa into it. So I led them away." Masato trailed off. "I'm not the best in a brawl, but I'm not completely useless."

Still, Sumire's gaze fell on his injured hands. Doesn't Masato have a recital soon? How can he perform in that condition of his. Her thoughts broke off when Masato patted her hair.

"Don't worry about this. It will get better in no time."

That doesn't make it okay.

"Ki, Masato." Mamoru rushed over. "Ouch, that must hurt."

Sumire stepped on Mamoru's feet, hearing his words. "Don't be insensitive."

"A passing-by elder woman was nearby and told me that there is a surveillance camera that would have caught everything on tape. What do you want to do about this Masato? You're an idol; you can report them."

Masato shook his head. "Now isn't a good time. If I report this, it will be all over the news."

"Right, it may cause problems for your father."

"No, the group. There is a lot of attention on us since we split into trio groups. We can't have people focus on something other than our music."

"Then, I'll call the base. They can dispose of them." Mamoru trailed off. "Ki, are you okay with that?"

Sumire's gaze fell on the people she had beaten up on the ground and bent down. She yanked their school emblem from their blazer. "This is the emblem of the school opposite Asahi's."

"Ki uh?"

"I guess I am not attending class today. Make an excuse for me?"

At Shinken Academy.

Although she managed to convince Ru not to come with her, unfortunately, the heavens seem to be against her today. No sooner was she formulating a plan to sneak inside did somebody call out to her.

"It was a good thing I caught you at the entrance. Sumire-sama, were you truly planning on charging inside and causing a riot?" Asahi lectured.

"Of course, I was," Sumire said with a bright smile. "Besides, weren't they the ones who tried to provoke me?"

"But still, unlike my school, that is disguised. This is a proper yankee high school. You can't just charge inside!" Asahi exclaimed. "At least put on a disguise; what if somebody recognizes you!"

Sumire sighed deeply. "You always nag."

"I only nag because you're too careless." Asahi took off her hat and glasses. "Wear these."

"These are some dark frames. Were you hiding from somebody?"

"No, we are doing a laser test today. I thought blocking out the bright light from the lasers this way would be better."

A laser test, huh ? Assassin schools are very interesting. Truthfully, she almost enrolled in the assassin school too. But, after she became close with the guys in nanairo feather, she realised that she didn't want to leave them. Even if it is just for a little while longer, she wants to continue seeing what type of music they will make together.

Also, 'I want you to lead a normal life.' Both Yuhi and Ru have said that to her.

She still doesn't understand what they mean by a normal life. But for now, attending a normal high school should contribute to that.

"So now that's resolved, let's go inside."

Asahi tried to persuade her to rethink, but just thinking about what happened moments ago bothered her. Masaru aside, Masato has nothing to do with the delinquent world. Why does he have to get dragged into this situation?

This is no good; before it escalates, she has to put a stop to it.
