He is too occupied thinking of different ways and theories to help Tsueno, that he didn't notice Sumire until she was standing only a few feet away from him. The girl was looking at him with a mixture of different expressions, and he sensed the conflict in her.
Sumire doesn't like others seeing her weak side, or lose control of her emotions. Earlier when she defended him, that was her losing control of her emotions. As flattered as he is by her actions, Toh understood that the girl saw it as a weakness.
No doubt Aki taught her that. Even before they first started dating, Toh understood how deeply engraved Aki's teachings are. It will take a very long time before she separates Aki's teachings from her mind.
"Hi beautiful, break?"
Sumire slowly nodded. She took a seat beside him and rested her head on his shoulder. Neither of them said a word, but Toh intertwined their hands together and heard a content sigh escape her lips. He knew even without asking her, that Sumire felt safe enough to let her walls down even for a moment.
Toh doesn't have to break the silence between them because Sumire does that herself.
"Are you hurt?" Sumire asked.
He shakes his head. "It didn't reach me."
Sumire bit her lip, she wore a complicated look on her face. "This is my fault. I know better than anyone what type of mood he has been in lately. I shouldn't have brought you here, or I should have at least told you to wait outside."
"You don't have to blame yourself."
"But this is my faul-"
Toh cuts her sentence off and kisses her. Despite her initial shock, Toh felt Sumire wrap her arms around his neck. It was just a kiss, but for the two of them. A kiss is enough to make them feel both aroused.
Sumire buried her face in his neck. "Did you kiss me just now to calm me down?"
Toh's lips curved to a smile. "Maybe I just wanted to kiss you."
A content sigh escaped Sumire's lips as he lightly nibbled on her bottom lip.
"Toh. Should we go home?"
Her tone was so needy and eyes filled with lust.
"I thought you were going to show me around."
Sumire sighed. "Well, I could but-I don't really want to risk running into Aki again." She trailed off. "Do you not want to take me home?"
Home.
Toh already knew which home she meant. Hearing her call his place home made him incredibly happy.
"I understand, I'll take you home." Toh spares a glance at where Tsueno was resting, and he simply waved his hand.
'I did want to talk to him about his condition. But, that can wait.'

Eyes filled with lust and that needy expression. Toh was thinking of creative ways to take her on the ride back. He surprised himself with the many methods he came up with. When they reached the hallway, Toh placed her on the counter and started to kiss her passionately. Sumire's sift moans escaped her pretty lips.
They had only been kissing for a few minutes, when he noticed there was something off about the girl. She normally turns red when they kiss, but this is different.
"Are you sick?" Toh asked as he parted their lips.
"I-I think so." Sumire coughed.
Toh frowned. Her cough sounds unusual. He placed his hand on her forehead. Her fever hasn't gone down. It seems worse than earlier.
He scooped her up in his arms and walked up the stairs and brought her to the bedroom. Placing her on the bed.
'I should make her some food and find some medicine.' He proceeded to leave only to have Sumire stop him.
Sumire tugged on his sleeve. "Don't leave, please. I'm not--" She trailed off. "Since meeting Lucifer, I have been feeling really weird."
This is the first time she is admitting that she met Lucifer directly.
"Did he touch you?" Toh asked.
"He grabbed my arm but-"
Toh hissed and his gaze fell on the girls arm. He mumbled a few words and then he could finally see it. A dark coloured bruise. No, a mating mark. A mark like this releases pheromones. No wonder she was acting so boldly, it was because of this.
"Sumire, you have to listen to me. You have to trust me."
"I trust you." Sumire nodded.
"Drink my blood."
At those words her cheeks coloured. "I-I-"
"This isn't the time to be debating about it woman. That mark will not only make you sick, but it will attract other beings to you."
"Oh."
Right now she is defenceless against other hanyou men, who could force themselves on her. Toh felt sick. He left her alone for a few hours, and anything could have happened at that time. Why on earth did Lucifer do this to her?
"Drink from me beautiful."
"I-I've never drank blood before Toh. I-I don't know what to do." Sumire stammered.
Toh blinked surprised. She's never drunk blood? But, she is a hanyou. How has she survived this entire time?
"You've bitten me before when we had sex Sumire. It's similar to that, but you have to not only bite but suck too."
Sumire's entire face was a lovely shade of red. If he wasn't trying to be rational, he would have bent her over and taken her already.
"I-I, will it hurt you?"
Toh shakes his head. "I'll be fine."
Sumire hesitated but he pulled the girl towards his neck. The moment she placed her face there, he felt something sharp against his flesh.
She mumbles an apology before he feels a harsh bite. Toh groaned but encouraged Sumire to continue as he ran his fingers through her brown hair.
Lucifer actually appeared before Sumire.
He knows her.
He wants something from her.
While Lucifer has been casually strolling around Star town recently. Toh knew that only a limited few have seen his appearance. He has only shown his face in front of important people.
Sumire is important to him.
'She is the one the boss is looking for. Sumire is my mission.'
Toh felt sick. He felt like throwing up.
He has been denying the facts this entire time. But, with this much evidence. How much longer can he convince himself that it's not her? What if he finds concrete evidence that it's her, will he still feign ignorance?
