Seeing her performance on the battlefield, Reyes was curious to check her stats. Looking at her rip apart the enemy, she was just like a war general without equal.

Thus, He called up Thunder and asked him to bring up her stats. Leah and Nathan heard this, the former was slightly averse to the idea of checking on another's stats.

Nathan on the other hand was also curious. He knew for a fact that Elena was a genius amongst geniuses. It was merely a desire to see how high up she was.

As they scanned through her profile, Reyes could not help but whistle in admiration while Nathan sighed. "It must be nice." Even the system rated her highly. She was truly destined for greatness.

Reyes switched off the holographic screen. "I'll be going out now. Take care." Nathan merely nodded in reply as he watched him leave the control room.

"Let's get back to work." Nathan returned to the control panel and began to check on the damage the Mammoth received before the shields were put up, leaving Leah to herself.

She remained silent as she watched him work.

"Heavenly blade: Splitting the mountains," Indra mumbled as he charged his blade and dashed forward and went past an Arachnid. There was a pause and then… a line formed through the area he had caught.

***Boom***

It was a sight to behold as he turned to the next one. Their counter-offensive looked to be sufficient but truly it wasn't. There was no coordination, everyone was trying to destroy as many machines as they could.

Elena realized this after she brought down an Arachnid, putting her kill count at five. Her eyes quickly scanned the battlefield and realized just how disorganized things were.

There was a reason that the military created ten specific positions for a squadron. Each position was to fulfill a specific role to allow for smooth operation.

The moment they get out of line and start fighting in whatever way they deemed fit, it already spelled the beginning of their failure. The Machines were tactical adversaries.

To win against them, one didn't just need overwhelming power because even with overwhelming power, one can still be brought down with sufficient numbers.

The strategy was important. The Annihilation war was one of not only strength but wit as well. Thus, as she looked around she realized just how messed up they were.

"We can't continue like this." She was aware of what she had to do. As the Herald, she had to set her squad straight. In a fight where the Spies were facing the enemy squarely.

A fight where the Defenders did not defend but instead used their shields to fight. The Bombardiers were left with no other alternatives but to send out explosives dangerously close to their allies.

…Everything was just wrong. If they continued like this, it wouldn't be long before they were overwhelmed. They had to escape and regroup. In light of that, Elena sent out a signal.

Gary accompanied Jeremiah at one end, helping him fend off attacks as he used his spear to counter. Their combination was a sight to behold.

Even in the chaos, there were still those that knew what had to be done. Alas, it was not enough. Gary caught the message sent over by Elena and picked up Jeremiah as he ran over to her side.

"Put me down you… large man!!" Jeremiah protested all to no avail. "Elena is calling for us. We have to head over to her." Was Gary's simple response as he quickly met with Elena.

At this point, the others had also gotten the message and moved over to Elena. The Arachnids had already aimed their ire at them, thus they pursued.

The squad was gathered at one point and the Arachnids turned away from the Mammoth and all sides and moved over to crush the enemy forces.

"We can't keep on fighting like this. We need to leave before things get out of hand. I don't want our first battle to end with us losing someone." Elena spoke her mind as the others listened while keeping their eyes on the Arachnids that approached.

"Right now, I believe we should get Nathan to leave with the Mammoth first, and then we follow behind. I and Indra will gain the Arachnid's attention. Gary and King will protect us."

As she spoke, Gary stood out with a brawny-looking redhead standing at another end. It was a question of whom had the bigger muscles between them.

"Celeste and Reyes will back us up with their Snipers." Reyes had just recently joined thus he was still quite fresh for battle.

Celeste, a blonde with blue eyes and a slender physique looked a little tired as she had spent a great deal of effort carrying a sniper around and using it in close-range combat.

It was a miracle that she hadn't been shot down yet. This was partly because of King that had helped her somewhat.

"Victor and Tanya will act as guides for the Mammoth and scout out the area ahead for them. If you spot enemies, try not to engage and instead find a different route." Victor and Tanya were the Spies for the squad.

One looked a lot like an African while the other had semblance with a Native American, also possessing dark skin. They looked like the quiet and reserved type, a perfect characteristic for a Spy.

"Doug and Viola will plant enough explosives around this area…" "How much?" Doug asked, cutting her off. Elena paused for a moment before she responded. "Enough to sink this valley and turn it into a deeper crevice."

Doug smiled, her words resonating with him. "Got it." She nodded in response as she continued. "Jeremiah and Freya will keep any Arachnids that would want to follow after the Mammoth. Ensure that none of them get past you."

Jeremiah sighed. "I'm serious, Jerry. Don't mess things up." "Ugh, fine. I heard you the first time."

Elena took one last glance at him before she shifted her attention elsewhere. "Sandra and Chelsea, you guys… Just go crazy on those bastards." The two ladies that looked a lot like sisters nodded with smiles on their faces.

The others will return to the Mammoth and ensure that a new safe spot is found. If a natural safe spot can't be found… Then you create one. All in all, you have to ensure that the Mammoth can recuperate from this attack."

Those that had not yet been named nodded in tacit understanding. With only a few words, Elena had managed to put things in order. It would have been so much worse had she not stepped up. Thus, they quickly went ahead to put things into action.

"Did you get all of that, Nathan?" Elena asked over comms. "Mn, I heard you, loud and clear." Came the lively response. Elena was just about to shut off the comms when she paused to ask.

"What do you think of my plan?" There was silence at the other end of the line for a few seconds before a measured response came in. "I wouldn't be able to think of a better plan."

A smile formed at the corner of her lips. "Thank you." The comms went dead and she went wild.

Inside the Mammoth, in the control room, Nathan was currently staring blankly, speechless. He blinked before suddenly exclaiming. "What the hell just happened?"

He could have sworn that Elena just asked for his opinion on her battle tactic. Was she crazy to ask the opinion of a support class like him?... It was likely.

Nathan saw no reason why she would ask him but he ended up replying to her in the best possible way. Of course, he did not try to sugarcoat his words or butter her up.

As far as he was concerned, he had spoken the truth. He wasn't exactly a war general but thinking about it using common sense, there was a likelihood of everything going fine without a loss of life.

Plan aside, he was still dumbfounded by Elena's actions. It was something he did not expect but had happened without any precursor to warn him.

Leah watched on the side and she had an awkward expression on her face as she watched Nathan freak out. "Are we leaving now?" She suddenly blurted out, jolting Nathan from his thoughts.

"…Of course, sorry bout that." He chuckled awkwardly as he tried to regain his composure. He took in some quick short breaths before he got back into his serious mode.
