It was nighttime. Nathan sat in a lotus position atop the roof of their tower, his fingers joined together to form a triangle.
His eyes were closed and his breathing was measured. He was currently meditating.
Suddenly, there was a sound. Someone was approaching. He slowly opened his eyes, just in time to see Leah sit beside him.
"How are you feeling?" "Much better, thanks."
The short exchange was followed by silence. Nathan was just about to return to meditation when Leah spoke up again. "Nate." "Yeah?"
"Do you think I'm cut out to be a Guardian?" Her voice was mellow, filled with self-doubt. "Why do you ask?" "…it's just… maybe I'm just not cut out for this. I mean, I can't even handle the pressure that comes with the trials… what's the likelihood that I would fare better down there?"
"Before I say anything… tell me the reason you decided to come to the academy?" Leah sorted through her thoughts before slowly responding.
