Everyone stood back as Betina dragged Acacia towards the door. With the intention of throwing her out of the house.
Pietro took Serena's hand in his, calming her down with a simple touch. He met her eyes and motioned for her to stop Betina.
Serena shook her head. Stopping her grandmother wasn't something she had the strength to do. Acacia truth hurt her.
"A treasure doesn't lose its value just because you find it in the gutters," he whispered next to her ear. "She isn't to blame for who her parents are. Don't punish her for something she couldn't control," he pleaded with her.
Serena leaned her head on his chest. His words echoed in her mind. She knew that he was telling the truth, one doesn't choose their parents in life.
"If Leah cared for her, Acacia wouldn't be in your life. Don't abondon her the same way her mother did," he pointed out.
"Grandma, please don't do this," Christabal pleaded in Acacia's behalf.
