'Why I'm afraid to lose you when you aren't even mine?' Eisha thought with tears streaming down her eyes.
She locked herself in the bathroom refusing to come out. In all her life since she turned into a vampire, this was the first time that she felt human.
There was a chill in his bones as she hugged her legs. The reality was hitting her hard like ice-cold water.
She lost her cool and fed on the only human that ever made her heart thunder in her chest.
There was no way for her to tell how Aldrin would see her from that moment going forward.
Her every muscle tensed when she heard a knock by the door.
Knock! knock! knock!
She closed her eyes scared, she wouldn't dare open the door. Deep down she could hear a voice inside her screaming for Aldrin not to leave him ever.
"Miss Sallow," Aldrin's melodic husky voice sounded from the other side of the door.
Eisha hid her face away in between her trembling knees. She cul ran and hide but that solution was only temporary. There was no way for her to avoid Aldrin forever.
Her heart was n her throat, afraid of what the ma wanted to say to her. She feared her heart was not strong enough to handle being rejected by her first love.
"Open the door, we sh-should talk," Aldrin uttered.
Eisha felt the hesitation in his voice, she heard it break before he cleared his throat and completed his statement.
Aldrinwaited for a few moments but he didn't hear any movement from inside the room. He placed his hand on the door unsure what to say in that situation.
He had faced many things in life but dealing with a vampire wasn't one of them. He was confused about what was safe to say and what would end up upsetting her even more.
It surprised him how little time it took for Eisha to evoke feelings in him. For the first time in his life, he was concerned about the well-being of a girl.
Aldrin leaned his head on the door and sighed. "Every anxious thought that steals your thoughts at this moment won't matter if you dont open the door," he let out in a gentle soft voice to convince Eisha to open the door.
Eisha stood from the ground and slowly sauntered to the door. She placed her hand on the door and leaned her head toward the door. With her eyes closed, she imagined her fingers intertwining with Aldrin and having him hold her as closely as he did moments back.
"Im not angry," Aldrin put out and waited.
He wished to express how relieved he was, Eisha made him feel free. He wasn't sure how he did it but he could have sworn that while she fed on him, she sucked more than just his blood.
She took all the pain that burdened him and sucked away all the guilt and the negative emotions that weighed on his heart.
Eisha listened to the sound of his heartbeat, she found the sincerity of his words. Comparing both the beat of her heart and his, she found it moving to in the same rhythm. It brought her comfort to hear his heartbeat match hers.
Her hand involuntarily moved to the doorknob and turned it clockwise, unlocking the door.
"Aah!" she yelled as fell forward when the door swung open.
Aldrin moved back from the door when it opened, he stretched his hand in the nick of time and caught Eisha before she hit the floor.
She reveled in the touch of Aldrin's hands, she glanced up. The man was such an ethereal beauty with soft eyes, thick lashes, and a slender jawline.
Eisha glanced up at him, her cheeks stained with tears.
"Are you okay?" Aldrin asked in a tantalizingly seductive tone of voice.
Eisha froze, breathing becomes a challenge. Her heart drums hard and for a moment she is afraid that Aldrin would be able to hear it.
Electrifying tingles ran throughout her body as her cheeks flush. She tries to contain her excitement for not noting a single ounce of dislike or hatred in Aldrin's eyes.
A coursing heat surges through her body from his, it forced her to avert her eyes from his.
Aldrin let out a pleased smirk at her reaction, it warmed his heart to see that she had stopped crying, that it didn't much for her mood to rise, all but a single touch of his.
"Are you feeling better now?" he inquired from her.
Eisha nodded her head in response, she didn't trust her voice to answer with all the emotions running through her body.
"That's nice to hear," Aldrin responded in the softest voice that he could muster.
It intrigued him to be faced with Eisha, technically speaking the girl before him shouldn't exist, vampires and magic weren't real.
Yet, there she stood right before him in the flesh. Her skin was a bit cold but it was hard to tell from a distance. She didn't glow like the vampires in books, drunk blood, and emotions. What amazed him the most was the fact that underneath all that, she looked like any normal girl.
She had felt like they do, although she moved faster than anything he had ever seen.
"Do you eat or do you only dr-drink blo-blood?" he asked a bit nervous about pointing out what she was in fear that she might run back to the bathroom or worse, out of the house.
"Is this a new trick to try and throw me out?" Eisha arched one of her eyebrows at him and asked.
Aldrin shook his head, after seeing what she can do the last place he wanted her was far from him. He hoped they could reach some understanding while having a meal. He was sure in one way or another they could find a good use for each other, but only if she agrees.
"If you invite me into your house then I will take you up on the offer for a meal," Eisha let out looking out for her future with Aldrin.
