Instinctively, after hearing his words, she stepped away from him, shocked by his action. Avana had locked herself in her room after Adam unceremoniously proposed to her. 

It was not as if he was carrying a ring with him as he went down on one knee. Neither was he proclaiming love and eternal happiness by marrying her. 

But, she had run away from her family and pack because of him. All because she did not want to tie herself into a loveless marriage with a monster like him. 

"I will give you time to think about it. But I hope you will consider hearing what else I have in mind." Adam said before finally leaving her alone.

He did not look like a monster as she initially had imagined him. Far from that, he was everything she had wanted in a man. Moreover, she had to admit there was an attraction between them that she could not keep denying.
