Chapter 146 - CXLVI

Avana watched the boy jump out of the swing and run toward the slide. It was visible he was having the time of his life. Soon, he came out of the tiny hole, gliding down the metallic sheet until he landed on the sandy ground with his feet before dropping on his butt when he lost his balance.

She almost ran to him, thinking he might be hurt but halted in her tracks when the boy started laughing as another boy helped him to his feet. Then, they ran again around the playground, trying the other games they could play.

"I saw an ice cream truck on the corner. Would you like one?" Adam asked her, standing up from the bench where they were sitting as they watched Kiev play with the other kids in the park.

They volunteered to take the boy out as Jace and her friends prepared to leave. They would travel back to White Mountain Heights to get answers about the boy's condition.
