Victor sat on his seat as he pulled out his phone and made a call. His expressions remained cold as the other side picked up. "Haley, organize the banquet at seven."
The assistant's eyes widened. She looked at the clock and became even more frightened. Her throat went dry as she spoke: "B-Boss, didn't you cancel it already? How's it possible to rearrange it within two hours?!"
Even Victor knew this was impossible, but he had to teach a lesson to a certain someone, and the banquet was a better place for that. He wanted to crush her beneath his feet. He wanted that old man to be as satisfied as he could be until his death, and making her surrender was his only option.
Just one year, and after that, he wouldn't need to put up with that girl anymore. He suppressed his violent instinct and said, "I'll give you incentives." After that, he hung up the call and dialed another number.
At the same time, Julia was making an attractive pose in the bridal dress. She bent forward as she showed a mature look on her face.
Click.
The old photographer showed a thumbs up sign that made the girl grin. Julia made another pose within a few seconds and the man shot another pic.
Ten photos were clicked ever since she had called Victor to vent her anger on him. To say that she was satisfied would be an understatement. She was extremely happy, so much that she wanted to jump around.
This was the first time she had managed to win a hand against that person. How exciting!
Just then, her cell phone rang. She let out a grunt as she walked over to the couch where she had placed it earlier. Her face showed a surprised look as she picked up the call. "What?"
Victor's cold voice echoed in her ears. "How many more pics more?"
"Nearly sixty….why?" Julia's eyes narrowed as she spoke.
"Good. Finish a hundred in one and a half hours. You have a banquet to attend." Victor paused while speaking and said, "No compromises in the quality. I even want a few pics of your wolf form."
Before Julia could respond, the man had already hung up the call. She stared at the screen in a daze.
Did she just hear it right? Was she just ordered to snap nearly sixty pictures within such a short time?!
How was that even humanly possible!?
Her grip on the phone tightened as she threw it on the ground. The screen cracked as she glared at it. She took deep breaths, and after a while, she picked it up again and made a call. "You think I'm a robot, don't you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about." Victor was in a rare good mood after venting his anger on the girl. He leaned back on his seat and said, "Get ready if you want to attend the banquet. Otherwise, I would attend it all alone. Don't blame me for speaking nonsense."
He hung up the call again.
Julai stared at her screen and had the urge to throw her phone again for the second time, but she suppressed her emotions as she glared at the blank screen. She wanted to call the number again, but she knew it would be useless.
She just knew this person did it on purpose! He wanted revenge for her post on social media!
So the guy didn't want her to attend the banquet just so he could speak nonsense about her. Fine then. She would surprise him by appearing in the event!
She turned to the old photographer as she showed a determined look on her face. "Snap my pics. Now!"
The guy nodded and gestured to her to walk over.
After one and a half hours….
Julia fell on the couch. Never in her life did she work so hard as today. Her body ached by continuously making poses one after another. She stared at the ceiling while cursing a certain alpha in her mind.
Rose, her assistant, was standing by her side at this time. They were both in the studio as she gave the singer a drink. "Here."
"I don't want it." Julia mumbled as she sighed. Her body was filled with sweat drops. "Call the make-up artist."
Rose tilted her head. "But….Boss…. You still have twenty more photos to finish."
Julia sneered. "Like heck I care about those pics. I want to attend that banquet and make sure he doesn't say stupid things."
"But…. you should finish the pics."
Julia waved her hand as if she didn't care about it anymore. "Don't make trouble. Do what I said."
Rose nodded as she pursed her lips. She wanted her boss to make less trouble for herself, but the woman's desire to court death had been increasing day by day. Even Rose was speechless by how boldly she acted in front of Victor despite being afraid of him.
She sighed and called the make-up artist.
An hour later….
The lobby of a hotel in front of Emerald Enterprises was filled with both reporters and people. Normally, this hotel wouldn't have so many people loitering around, but today, it was special. Victor Bush had held a banquet to introduce his wife!
But that wasn't the important point. The thing that made all the celebrities gasp in surprise was the fact that Victor walked inside the hotel lobby all alone! Where the hell was his wife that he wanted to introduce to the world?
When they thought about how she had posted a sentence about his bed activity so boldly, they only chuckled and gossiped. Surely, this couple knew how to take their fight to the public, but neither of them complained.
At this moment, Victor was surrounded by reporters. The sound of shutters echoed in the background every now and then as the people with microphones raised their hands and asked about Julia.
Victor glanced around silently as he shut his mouth and waited. He continued to stand there as the bodyguards pushed the crowd back.
It had been fifteen minutes, but this person continued to stand there without saying a word. What the heck was he doing?!
All of their questions were answered as a car stopped right in front of the hotel gate. Julia Sims walked out wearing a sparkling green dress.
The corners of Victor's lips curved up when he saw her. As expected. The woman walked right in his trap.
