Chapter 4 - Eleena

"B--But, how? I clearly remember looking here. It's dark magic, Mumma. Someone wants me to get beaten by you," he said looking confused.

He definitely searched here but it wasn't here back then.

He cursed himself for having weak eyesight.

But then again, this has happened to him more than once.

Every time he goes to search for something, he could never find it in the first place.

Then he would go sulking to his mother about how he can't find that certain thing.

He would only have confidence when she tells him the exact location of that thing. Otherwise, no matter how many times he looks at the same place, he would never find it.

"Sure, whoever did this black magic only found you. I am pretty sure that they had better candidates to cast dark magic on but they still had to choose you," she sarcastically said, her eyes shining like golden flames.

His mother wasn't as innocent after all. She was pretty sarcastic. But what do you expect from a top writer and a vampire queen?

"Mumma! whatever. I am getting late. Bye," he runs to the bathroom after kissing her on her cheeks.

His mother just smiled warmly at her younger son's back.

She then looked around and her smile dropped down.

"This boy! Let him return. I will teach him a lesson about how he shouldn't keep his room dirty and messy," she said picking up his clothes to put them for washing.

"Bye-bye, Mumma. I am running super late. Big bro is going to cut off my pocket money if I am late again. Do pray for me, lest I turn into a snail," his words fading into the background as he left the room, running fast as if he was in the Olympics.

"This boy," she shook her head smiling before cleaning the room at a speed faster than lightning.

Elijah found his driver waiting for him. He opened the door and popped into the seat.

"Big bro, I know that you are told to not run faster than the average speed but today, we got to break all the rules. It's about my pocket money. I don't want to roam around with an empty pocket," he said holding the driver's hands into his, who was probably the same age as his older brother.

"Bring out your inner tiger. Remember the most humiliating things that have been done to you. Be angry and imagine the street to be your battlefield. If you get to reach the main office in, umm-" he looked at his wristwatch.

"- Twelve minutes then you will get to beat the people you hate the most. Imagine that you are going to win against them just by completing this task. You can do this, my lion," a smile formed on his face when he noticed the determined look on his driver's face.

"You got this!" He encouraged his driver who nodded his head determinedly.

They started going faster than they ever did. Elijah started laughing because of the ticklish sensation caused by the speed.

He could feel more blood rushing through his body and he could feel himself getting more energetic.

He looked outside of the window, only for his eyes to fall on a girl's cold face.

He looked fearless and smug about her driving.

The person who was sitting next to her seemed to be scared for his life. He looked like he was begging her to slow down.

But she paid no attention to him and the smirk grew just bigger when he noticed her going at a faster speed.

In a swift, her car has taken over theirs.

Elijah was left in awe. She was the coolest girl he has came across.

He couldn't help but get attracted to her. On top of that, her features were to die for.

He only saw her side profile yet he was already mesmerized by her beauty.

Later, he arrived at the main office just on time but remained disinterested in everyone's talk as the only thing he could imagine at that moment was that mysterious girl.

Later he hired the top investigators to find out about her address. After three of them failed in this job, the fourth one succeed in getting her workplace's address.

Since then he would visit this nightclub every weekend, just to get a glimpse of her.

Flashback ends.

"Why don't you go back home? She has left already," the bartender said, still wiping off glasses.

"You are right. Keep the change as a tip," he said before slamming a few thousand dollars on the table.

"If you are being generous, I won't shy away then. Feel free to drop by whenever you want to," the bartender said before trying to grab the money.

"Not this fast. If you are able to answer my question then I will be sure to give you a more generous tip," he said still holding the money.

"What's that?"

"I want her name."

"Ace Queen."

"Her real name?"

"That's against the policy. Hence I can't tell you her real name."

"While doing illegal work every day, you care about the policy?"Elijah raised his left eyebrow while the bartender cleared his throat.

This nightclub was an underground business, which is clearly illegal.

"Thing we all do for money," the bartender coldly chuckled at self-mockery.

"Her name? My patience is running out already and I am clearly not the most cheerful one out there when I am angry," Elijah said tapping his fingers on the hardboard.

"Eleena, that's what her name is but don't even call her by this. She is definitely going to have your heart within her palms if you do so without her permission," the bartender said carefully looking around.

"Such a savage behavior, just because of someone calling her with her actual name? She's definitely interesting!" Elijah said pulling his hands off.

The bartender grasped the money before taking the extra money Elijah bought out of his coat pocket.

"Have fun!"

Elijah left with a smuggled look on his face.

"Both of our names even start with the same letter. Maybe we are destined to be," he thought cheekily.
