Annalise kept her age fixed on the man while her grip tightened around the daggers. Her elements were also waiting at the surface to act immediately the moment she summoned them.
The man took a few more minutes to inspect the dead bodies of the two Shadowlords before he finally stood and turned to face Annalise. "Now, you are making me curious about your true ability. Someone who can hold the light energy within her, can't be just a mere mortal, right?"
Annalise didn't even bother to respond to his questions. Neither of them was interested in talking and she could tell that he was just trying to stall for time by diverting her attention through his questions.
