"My Lord..."
Annalise stood near the entrance of her bedroom as she stared at the man who was standing next to the huge open window filled with vines while looking outside at the star-filled sky.
She heard the bedroom door losing behind her before a strong but warm force of magic pulled her towards her husband, closing the distance between the two of them and making her end up standing right next to him.
This was one of those rare moments where she got to see any of her husbands using their powers and once again she realized just how powerful they were. The aura that they carried around them already declared their strength in controlling the superior magic but something kept telling her that the Dark Lords were may more powerful than she was imagining them to be.
"You are nervous." It was not a question. And when Kenric turned to look at her directly in the eyes, she noticed the glint that hinted at his teasing attitude towards her.
Annalise found herself looking away because staring into those deep obsidian eyes of her husband was proving to be a really hard job for her. She felt like his eyes were taking off all her layers and trying to expose her to him. "I... I'm just not prepared... I think." She muttered as she pinched her fingers to hide her embarrassment.
"What are you not prepared for?" Kenric asked as he took hold of her chin between his thumb and foreigners and raised her head to make her look into his eyes.
"I... that... I..." Annalize was at a complete loss. The incoherent words leaving her mouth caused a twitch to appear on Kenric's lips as he tilted her head backward and inched his own face closer to hers.
Annalise could feel her body reacting to his nearness and his warmth. Weaves of sparks started flying all over her body and her heartbeat escalated. As for her breathing... she realized that she had been holding her breath and the realization made her hurriedly let out the breath and take a deep one.
"Why are you not saying anything, Little Bird? What are you not prepared for? Want some help?" His warm breath fanned her cheeks as his nose grazed her cheek as softly as a feather, causing a shudder to travel through her body.
Her eyes started dropping as it became harder for her to keep her sanity intact when the devil himself was trying to snatch it away. "Kenric..." His name was a soft whisper and it resulted in a little groan from her husband who brushed his lips against her jaw for a fleeting nanosecond.
"It feels so natural... to touch you... to be this close to you... to have you in my arms." Kenric's words warmed Annalise's cheeks but what really made her entire body shake from the inside out was the pull that closed the remaining space between their bodies as Kenric wrapped his arm around her waist and pinned her against his body.
"Little Bird, can you feel the connection blossoming between your essence and mine?" he whispered, his opposite hand cupping her cheek. "Our souls are essence-based and when we found our destined ones, our essence gravitates toward that person's essence. My powers have been calling to you from the very moment we met."
While Annalise could hardly understand what he was talking about because her brain was no longer functioning properly, she couldn't deny that she had always found a force pulling her toward her husbands.
She wasn't sure what kind of force it was or what did it even mean. But listening to Kenric's words, she could sense the truth in his words.
Three men she hardly knew.
Three men who were poles apart in character when they were actually brothers.
Three men who were her husbands.
Three men who seemed to be more mysterious than anyone predicted.
She had started to completely lose to them. They successfully made her lower her guard around them. Succeeded in entering her private zone, and most importantly... succeeded in making her heart flutter every time they were close to her.
Their eyes met once again and Annalise recognized the fire burning in his deep black irises, it matched the one she saw during their episode in the living hall a week ago.
"You," he whispered, his eyes lowering to her mouth. "You are gorgeous, Little Bird."
"Kenric..." She found herself breathing out his name once again. She wasn't sure when she became so comfortable in calling his name without using any honorifics.
Her hands had made their way to his shoulders at some point and her fingers were digging softly into his muscles.
In response, the man tugged her closer if that was even possible considering their bodies were plastered against each other.
All of her thoughts evaporated when his mouth descended over hers and his lips engulfed hers in a deep scorching kiss.
Kenric didn't bother to go slow or ease her into the moment. Instead, he just led her with his tongue as he deepened the kiss.
The kiss unleashed the passion between them in an explosion of sensation and desire that burned the two of them equally. The feelings were so foreign and new for Annalise as she was left completely breathless, needy, and moaning for more.
Her body seemed to burn in a fire that only he could dissipate. A passion only he could cool.
Her moans encouraged a groan from him as he tugged her lower lip into his mouth, sucking hard, the hand that had been cupping her face traveling into her hair as he positioned her face to his heart's desire.
Kenric pulled away from the kiss only to place soft kisses all over her cheeks and jawline.
His hands moved toward her shoulder and she felt him tugging on her robe. The realization of what he was doing made a gasp escape her lips but she was silenced by his mouth that once again pulled her into a kiss.
