Valerius was patient with her as he just stood there silently and just patted the back of her head softly with one of his hands while his other hand was protectively wrapped around her waist. He didn't say anything, nor did he try to make her stop crying; instead, he just allowed her to let out the piled-up emotions.
Annalise had no idea for how long she cried and just how impatient the Dark Witches were feeling because of her, but when she finally started calming down, the only thought left with her was that of regret. She should have held back a little bit more so that they could finish the important task of creeping the Divine Guardian Beasts first.
"Though you just cried, I can feel that you are actually happy." Valerius finally spoke as he kept brushing the tips of his fingers through her hair, lightly massaging her scalp. His voice was so soft that Annalise wondered if it was only her who heard him.
