The journey to Aja Vana was largely uneventful, if one did not count the copious amounts of non-clothed activities that the two captains engaged in. Mariana was quite satisfied with this. In fact, she could now say to herself that she had never had as much fun as she was having now. Still, the threat looming over them…no, it was not just a threat. The word "threat" implied the possibility of the worst outcome not happening, and the end of the world was a certain thing at this point, not something that could be taken away as a sort of a carrot and stick -mechanism.
Mariana listened to the winds and the waves every night. She slept as little as humanly or angelically possible, and her sleep did not come too easily, so it was easy for her to skip straight into the part where she was roaming the deck in the tropical darkness and trying to spot as many oceanic animals as possible.
