Laurene, revealing that her Spell Casting hadn't actually been broken, but 'Paused', continued her chant and launched the Nuclear Magic at him, while David came in and delivered another hit to damage him even further, weakening him to the point where Laurene could deal the final blow despite the 125 Level difference between them.
On a side note, the ability to 'Pause' Spell Incantations and 'Resume' them at one's convenience was one of the abilities of Laurene's Magic Catalyst: Venus.
