Chapter: 28 Cleaning House.
While Michael was making his way towards K&K,s headquarters. Many important personnel of the company were also making their way towards the meeting.
The meeting room was extremely spacious with a huge black table taking up almost the entire room. The meeting room was designed very minimalistic. Beside the table and chairs there was only a projector sitting on the table and there was nothing else.
Many of the individuals who had arrived early already had an idea what the meeting was about.
As for the rest, they were still in the dark and it was unknown what their thoughts were on the matter.
There was only one person in the entire meeting room who had an aura that begged to be left alone.
This person was none other than the COO of the company now Acting CEO Jim Morty.
When it was Announced that the company had been acquired completely. The previous owner as well as the previous CEO and some investors turn tails and ran away without a word. Next thing Jim knew a pile of papers and a promotion email were forwarded to him explaining his new promotion and duties then... there was nothing else.
It's not that Jim didn't want his new found position. Heaven knows he had been waiting for the past CEO to retire So that he could have a chance to finally reach the peak of his career.
What had him in low spirits was that as soon as he was feeling comfortable with his new job the owner called for an in-depth investigation into the company and its workers. Everything would be fine if atleast the company books were in check ...the problem was, they weren't.
Not only were the books a mess with money amounting to a couple billions vanishing into thin air but there were also signs of corruption and private deals being done within the company. All of this was giving Jim a headache because as acting CEO and past COO, Jim would've had to have some idea of what was going on and even if he didn't. The one who would have to take responsibility for the matter would have to be no one other than him.
Just as Jim was about to start cursing himself internally for his bad luck. A commotion broke out down the hall from where the meeting was taking place.
Sounds of conversations and whispers could be heard all around as two extremely attractive people made their way down the hall heading towards the meeting room.
These two extremely attractive individuals were none other than Rose and Michael.
"OMG, Does anyone know who they are?
They're so dreamy!."
"Omg, why does that man look even more attractive to me than the goddess beside him
And I'm a dude."
"Hey, hey, hey, he's mine, look somewhere else. I'm willing to give him my baby's."
"YOU WISH! I heard the company was acquired completely some time ago. If I'm not wrong, that should be our new boss."
Damn! If he's our new boss it's fine. But why does he have a secretary already...."
....
As the workers continued whispering and gossiping with each other Michael and Rose had already made their way towards the meeting room.
Without saying a word Michael walked into the room and sat down on the main chair at the head of the table only paying attention to Rose as she took her seat next to him.
By the time Rose had settled into her chair. The room had already quieted down and entered a period of complete silence.
The silence continued for a while. Enough for Michael to feel that he had everyone's attention. Only then did he start to speak.
"Hello everyone. My name is Michael Croft. As you all probably know by now. I recently acquired K&K in its totality. Meaning now I'm your one and only boss."
"Usually. I would have some else go over the procedures and have them inform you all that everything would be running the same as usual and probably give you guys a bonus because of how hard you guys have been working.
Sadly. That won't be happening today.
At first when I bought the company I noticed something wrong with how the company handled its business given that I didn't receive a follow up call from the new CEO after the company acquisition.
It would be fine if a lack of communication or dereliction of duties had taken place. But after some investigation I found that sadly,That wasn't the case.
After finishing his speech Michael remained silent and signaled to Rose before starting to gaze at the people sitting inside the room.
At the same time Rose stood up and began handing out a stack of folders to everyone sitting around the table before turning around to take a seat once more.
After getting the folders the various employees sitting around the table looked at each other with inquiring gazes.
The one's in the know didn't even bother to look at the contents inside the folder as for those who didn't began to gasp one after another. Some started to sweat, some started to cry, some were extremely worried.
The only thing all of these people had in common was they were all going to face the consequences of their actions one way or another.
" In the folder my secretary just passed around. There is a list of names, their position within the company and their crimes. To those of you who have there names marked in red I don't need to talk to you any longer. Please leave your security badge on the table and you may exit the room. There are a couple of police officers down stair waiting to talk to you.
Before anyone knew how to react to what they had just heard the doors to the meeting room were open in a quick fashion and a group of police officers started to escort people one by one out of the meeting room.
By the time the officers left. Almost one third of the room had been taken away.
There was no unnecessary communication. no loud crying or shouts of injustice and fury everyone left without even putting up a struggle because there was no need for it.
Because inside the folder they had just received. All their crimes were written clearly in extreme detail. From simple theft of company property to money laundering. Time and dates were clearly stated.There was no hiding from it and there was nothing they could do. The new boss wasn't here just to take over. No. He was here to clean house.
