Just as the storm of blood settled down, a mass floated through the air towards the coast. As it got closer one could see that it resembled a giant octopus with 100 meter long tentacles. Underneath this mass of flesh was a man.
As the man arrived at the beach he dropped the creature unceremoniously on the sand and then flew up to the girl who had just finished calming the ocean water that came rushing back towards the coast. As he got up to her, Mai's body went limp as she collapsed into his arms, her breathing ragged.
Looking down at the face of the exhausted little girl. "Everyone is going to be so proud of you. You did a great job Mai. You just saved the entire west coast! Let's get you back to your parents."
The girl groggily looked up at the mountain of a man who held her. She tapped him on his chest, "I'm tired. Can we get ice cream later? I could really use a nap…" Feeling the liquid rolling down her cheek, Mai wiped her face and looked at her hand that was now covered in blood stained water. "Huh? Why's the rain red?"
Supreme's body stiffened as he stuttered, "Ye… yes of course the rain. Listen about the rain… Maybe you can ask your parents when you wake up.".
After saying this he noticed a sound almost like a quiet rhythmic purring. He then looked back down at the young girl. Noticing that she had already fallen asleep due to exhaustion, Supreme quickly turned and flew towards the central command center that had been built near the wall.
Arriving with the sleeping Mai. He handed her to a waiting medic, "She's fallen asleep. Pretty sure she's just exhausted.
The medic laid her down on a gurney. Then moving her hand as it glowed a bright blue over the girl's unconscious body. She looked at Supreme and smiled, "You're right she'll just need some rest and she'll be fine. I'm still kinda in shock honestly. This little girl literally caused it to rain blood. So how'd she take it when you told her?"
As she looked up expecting an answer. Supreme was nowhere to be seen. "Did he just…" shaking her head while wheeling Mai into the building on the gurney she muttered to herself, "I Can't believe he just bailed like that."

Lina Nakai, the B-rank Hero known as 'Windraider', had just given birth to a 4.19 kg healthy baby boy with black hair and brown eyes.
As the nurse looked into the baby's eyes she sighed "Oh, no silver eyes?".
Keme Sunchild-Nakai the B-rank Hero known as 'Voltage' looked over her shoulder, "That's not surprising. His mom's eyes didn't turn silver until after her awakening. Same with his grandmother. Hi little man." wiggling his fingers at the child while smiling.
The nurse's grin grew wide as she turned towards Keme, "Do you want to hold him?"
Keme backed away quickly, "Are you trying to get me killed?"
Giggling, the nurse turned. Walking towards the boy's waiting mother she waved her hand over the child's body as she walked. Her hand emitting a subtle green glow. "Can't be too careful. Are you ready for some breakfast, little guy?" Leaning towards Lina, "Here you go Mrs. Nakai, try not to push yourself too hard.".
At this moment everything seemed to slow down to a stop. The nurse, the parents, the planet, the sun, even the universe itself all had just seemingly stopped moving.
Unknown to all present, a being, out of sync with time took shape formed from the very rays of morning sunlight that shone through the window. It took the shape of a 137 cm tall petite girl with an attractive face, tan skin, golden eyes, and long golden hair flowing down her back and ending at her knees, wearing a white short sleeved sun dress while going barefoot.
The girl stood on her toes attempting to look past the nurse's shoulder to see the baby. Frowning, she waved her hand through the nurse. Turning the woman's body into scattered ashes that continued to float in the room, as she grabbed the child holding it with her other arm. Looking at the child the way a person would look at a puppy. She waved her hand over the baby, her hand glowing with a bright golden light. At the same time a light emitted from the newborn's glabella.
"There we go, all done." the girl said to herself as she put the baby in his still unmoving mother's outstretched hands.
At this point a man with skin like ivory, eyes as black as the void, with silver hair down to his waist, wearing nothing but black hakama stepped out of the shadow in the corner of the room. "Put the mortal back together…"
The girl looked out the corner of her eye, "What mortal are you referring to dear brother?"
The man squeezed the bridge of his nose, "Stop playing around. I've finished up my part, now hurry up before d**k head gets here."
She turned towards him, "It's not like we're interacting with the time stream. He won't even be able to perceive us since it'll only be a soul fragment that would show up. Also, it's not like anyone is going to miss one lousy mortal."
Squinting his eyes the man spoke, "Just do it.. The rest of the kid's soul fragments don't have bodies anymore so d**khead will be able to devour them easily. We can just go back and watch as a certain a**hole has half his soul's power get eaten up by this kid."
The girl stood there with a look of shock on her face, "THAT'S THE THING YOU WERE BUSY WITH?!? KILLING…. I don't even know how many babies!?!".
The man walked up to her, leaned over and whispered in her ear, "Who's gonna miss one lousy mortal?" Standing up straight, his body dispersed, flowing back into the shadow it came from.
The girl looked up at the ceiling and muttered, "But!?! It's one… That's not…". She then stomped her feet, "YOU LITERALLY JUST MURDERED LIKE A TRILLION BABIES!!!". Then turning towards the window she waved her hand casually in the direction where the nurse once stood and muttered angrily,"Jerk…". Her body flowing back into the light while the nurse reformed as if nothing had happened. The universe began to move again.
The nurse with a look of utter incomprehension looked at her hands, "What the…". Seeing Lina pull the baby into her embrace she turned, shaking her head, "I gotta stop pulling doubles." and sighed as she walked past Keme and stopped. "Nurse Cooper will be with you shortly with the paperwork for the birth certificate for you to fill out Mr. Nakai. So what are you going to name the little sweety?"
Lina looked up from the now suckling baby. "Kai… his name will be Kai."
The nurse smiled. "That is such a great name. Well I better go get that paperwork." She then opened the door and left, closing the door behind her..
After the nurse left another woman entered the room wearing a purple long sleeve cotton blouse with a black skirt going to her ankles. On her feet a pair of well worn tan combat boots. Her hair tied in a traditional Navajo hair bun. Appearing to be in her mid twenties. With an attractive face and perfect hourglass figure, with black hair and blazing silver eyes. She could easily pass for Lina's twin.
