Chapter 18 - She’s a selkie

Sophie's eyes widened and her heart started racing. She needs to find out who this siren is.

Until yet, she thought that it was Goeth, who else could it be?

Can it be someone who has a grudge against his parents? She doesn't know any siren other than Goeth who wanted blood.

She searched through her mind, her hand gripping her hair hard.

Sophie thought about it. Can it be someone who has something against Tyrion? Tyrion  did hate selkies and sirens, Thena also mentioned an accident.

Sophie thought what she should do. The easiest thing would be knowing her identity. Sophie thought about how she could do that, for that she needs to go to a water body, be it a lake or a pond. That, she can do because Tyrion's garden had a huge pond, she just needs a piece of Helen's hair.

She quickly locked her door and ran to Helena's room, Helena must be eating dinner in the hall with the other princesses, this is the perfect time.

Sophie stood infront of Helena's room. It was easy to find out because only 4 princesses are remaining as Liana obviously left. Out of those four princesses, all of them lived in different pets of the house so only Helena's room was in the North, close to Tyrion's.

Sophie held the door knob and twisted it. No luck, it was locked. She took a deep breath and twisted it hard, breaking it.

Doesn't matter if she gets caught doing this, she is about to tell Tyrion everything anyway, and it would be easier if she knows the identity of the siren.

Sophie went inside and dread filled her, this room was huge.

She instantly went to Helena's dressing table and took out her comb. On the comb were her perfect blonde hair.

Without wasting any other second, Sophie took the hair and left the room. She ran off to the exit, crossing the long corridor.

"Princess" Tyrion's voice stopped her and she turned around to see him.

"Where are you going princess, it's late at night" Tyrion spoke with care and Sophie's heart melted.

"I'm just going for a walk" she lied, she hated lying to him.

"I'll come with you, it's not safe outside" Tyrion instantly held her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it.

"No, I just want some time alone. I was just feeling a little overwhelmed" Sophie said as she looked at his face with her large eyes.

"If that's what you want." Tyrion sighed "but take this with you" he gave her a necklace.

Sophie held it as it brought a smile to her lips "Tyrion" was embedded on it.

Tyrion blushed and nodded "well it was mine, it protects me from spirit magic, today evening mom gave it to me, I used to wear it when I was little" he said and Sophie nodded. She started wearing it and Tyrion took it from her hands.

"Here" he said as he turned her, placing it around her neck, his breath was hitting her neck.

"Thank you Ty" Sophie said in breaths as their proximity was affecting her.

"Just take care of yourself, I don't think I can-" Tyrion stopped mid sentence "I don't think I can live if anything happens to you" he clicked the pendant closing it.

"I love you princess, and I'm sure about it, as sure as I'm that I want to live the rest of my life with you" Tyrion said after he held her should and turned her around to face him.

"Ty, you don't have to live without me."  She said as she stood on her tip toes and kissed him hard.

His hands went to her hair and he pulled her closer. Her hands went to his chest, running all over it. A moan came from Tyrion's mouth and Sophie kissed him hard. Panting, they broke away from their kiss as Tyrion held her close.

"I'm serious princess, I love you" he looked at her seriously and Sophie nodded. The intensity in his eyes made her shiver. She gave him a kiss on his cheeks.

"I think I should get going now" Sophie said as she remembered the piece of hair in her pocket.

Tyrion nodded "be back soon, I don't think I can wait any longer to hold you" Tyrion said, taking her in for another hug.

"I will" she nodded and left.

She had decided she won't be doing this anymore, she won't be lying to Tyrion after this, she won't be breaking his heart ever.

Sophie started running when she left the mansion. She will end this, once and for all.

She soon saw the lake in a distance and her steps slowed. As soon as she reached the pond. She took a deep breath, she was exhausted from all the running.

Sophie then took out the piece of hair in her hand and started chanting words. The whole pond started shining slowly.

Blue light started emitting from the pond and Sophie started floating in the air. Her words were becoming faster and urgent.

The spell broke and she fell down, no, she couldn't focus.

She cursed loud with frustration, she needs to do this, if not for her, then for Tyrion. She took another deep breath and started chanting again.

This time, the pond shone a brighter blue, the light illuminated the surrounding lake. Sophie was higher in the air and this time, the spell worked. Wa wave of water flew from her hands, carrying the piece of hair, Sophie's eyes remained shut as she kept on chanting.

As soon as the hair fell into the lake, her whole body shook but she continued the enchanting.

Sophie continued speaking as infront of her eyes, a vision broke.

Sophie was playing with a starfish and her mother was sitting beside her. Her mother looked completely different with raven black hair and dark blue eyes instead of her blonde hair and sky blue eyes. Her mother looked just like her! Her mother looked at her and an evil smirk played on her lips.

The vision changed to another, this time Sophie looked like she was older, probably 14. Sophie's mother was waiting for her infront of a lake as as soon as Sophie came with a ring, her mother snatched it and said something angrily. Her mother then started casting a spell and Sophie started choking on air. Black soothe surrounded them and Sophie started floating in the air.

Sophie's hands were around her neck, trying to catch a breath. Her mother was continuously chanting, instead of hearing her pleas.

Sophie looked at her mother and started aggressively shouting, it was not audible but visible.

Her mother didn't reply and kept her eyes closed. Sophie placed her hand forward and water started shining from it. Sophie directed it to her mother and caused her to fall back with a jerk. Sophie fell on the ground and her mother aggressively charged to her, before she could reach Sophie, Sophie pushed her with her magic again but this time, her mother fell into the spell she was casting and the black sooth vanished.

The vision broke and Sophie stood on the ground confused. Her eyes went to the pond were dead fishes were floating. Her hands went to her lips as she gasped. Whoever this siren was, she was extremely powerful.

"See! I told you she was lying to us. She's a selkie" a voice shouted from behind Sophie and she stopped dead in her tracks.
