"She's not picking up…"
Mommy wasn't feeling so good again, her leg was hopping. I wanted to sit on her lap while her leg hopped, but I was a big girl now.
Lap hops were for last year— I started my Karate training with daddy now.
I paused the VCR on a killer move that I was dying to try out and went to sit by her side — My training could wait.
"Mommy, braid my hair for me,"
This always made her happy.
"Oh? Come here, honey," She looked at the tv and then quickly looked away. She hated it.
It was okay, mommy and I were different.
"… Are you done with… watching that? Do you want to have another tea party with me?"
Noooo!
"Mommy! we had one with your friend, I already washed all of the teacups, they need to dry now…"
When she narrowed her eyes at me, I smiled so much that my cheeks hurt.
Come on, mommy!
I knew it worked when she gently grabbed me by my shoulders and turned me around. She started braiding my hair.
