Chapter 90 - Chapter Ninety One

Inside Lunch Rush was a bustling hive of activity. The air was filled with the sound of chatter, laughter and clinking of silverware. Mina happily hopped over to the table filled with her classmates, she took the open seat beside you. The pinkette furrowed her brows, spotting the phone pulled to your ear and the mild annoyance expressed across your face.

Mina leaned back, lightly swatting Katsuki's arm who sat on your right side. "Whose she talking too?" She whispered, Katsuki rolled his eyes, leaning backwards.

"Renata." Katsuki answered, "Something about bridesmaid dresses."

"Oh." Mina nods, turning to her food.

"A color is a color." You flatly replied, "I don't care, you pick." You groaned, rubbing your temple as your soon to be sister-in-law chatted away on the phone. Your eyes fell to your empty tray, then slid over to Mina's. "Mhm." You hummed through the phone—eyes scanning over the options on her tray.

Katsuki leaned over, a smirk playing on his lips. "You want more food?"

"Uh..." You cleared your throat feeling him so close, pulling your lips into a thin line. "...I mean if you're offering."

"I'll be back." Katsuki chuckled, lifting himself up. "You want the same thing or something different?"

"Same thing is fine." You answered, Katsuki nodded turning to the busy lunch line.

Shiro laughed, standing against the wall of the lunchroom watching Katsuki make his way towards the growing line.

"What's so funny?" Gray asked through the line.

"Nothing-" Shiro shook his head. "-just watching Blondie."

"Speaking of him-" Gray rotated the phone from his left ear to the right. "-do you think we can really trust him?"

"Eh-" Shiro shrugged, knowing Gray couldn't see. "-the dudes been holding a flame for (y.n) for years, I've been watching him these past few days turn into a complete simp, he's harmless."

"If you say so."

"Wait-" Shiro frowned, "-aren't you in the same room as Renata who is on the phone with (y.n)?"

"Yeah."

"Dude it's lunch time, why'd you call me too!?"

"Cuz' I wanted to know how (y.n)'s doing, and I can't ask her herself because she'll just say, 'oh I'm doing fine' and we all know-" Shiro laughed at Grays impression of you. "-I want to know how she's really doing, any withdraws?"

"It's been a few days since she was released from the hospital and as far as I can see, I haven't seen any signs of withdraws from her."

"How is that even possible?" Gray fiddled with a cooking utensil. "When we came off it, it was hell!"

"It was." Shiro nods, watching you. "But we really shouldn't be surprised, (y.n) has always been stronger than us."

"True." Gray agreed.

Midoriya—sitting across from you—cleared his throat after seeing you end the call with Renata.

"(y.n)?"

His voice pulled your eyes upward, Midoriya's heart fluttered feeling your gaze. "I-I was hoping I could ask you something if you not to busy?"

You kept eye contact as you reached over, taking a drink from the straw. Midoriya swallowed the lump in his throat.

"You gonna spit it out or...?" You sat your cup down.

"O-Oh!" Midoriya didn't know your silence was his queue to keep talking. "S-So tomorrow is Friday!"

You blinked, glancing at Mina before looking back to Midoriya.

"You wanted to tell me the day?"

"Well, no-" Midoriya frowned, "-Fridays are family dinners with Toshi and my mom, and I was hoping tomorrow you'd join us."

Shiro slid in the open seat beside you, having ended the call with Gray he stole your drink earning a tight glare from you.

"What are we talking about?" Shiro wondered.

"Family dinner tomorrow." You filled him in.

"Ooo-" Shiro cooed, "-nice, I'll text Gray."

"Um..." Midoriya fiddled with his empty cup in front of him. "...well, Toshi will be there, so you won't need someone to—you won't need a—a um...babysitter type of person-"

"You know I'm sitting right here." Shiro placed his head on his hand, playfully staring down Midoriya from across the table.

"Of course, I do!" Midoriya blushed, "It's just...I was hoping for it to be..."

"You said it was a family dinner, right?" You questioned.

"It is." Midoriya nodded, hoping you'd understand.

"Then why wouldn't my brothers come?" You leaned back, tilting your head to the side.

"I-I guess..." Midoriya lock eyes on the cup in front of him.

"It's because we're not his family." Shiro put Midoriya out of his misery.

"That's not what I'm saying!" Midoriya quickly jumped, waving his hands.

"Really?" Shiro leaned in, "Then you don't have a problem with us tagging along then?"

"Of course not!" Midoriya's cup fell over—he quickly went to sit it up right causing you to smirk seeing his nervousness. "I-I'm going to get some desert!" Midoriya shot up from his seat, quickly taking his exit.

"Aw-" Shiro chuckled, "-watch him run away with his tail tucked between his legs!" You shoot him a flat look. "Oh, come on, it was funny!"

You rolled your eyes.

"So, how did this morning go?" Shiro wondered, a playful glimmer in his eye.

"What do you mean?" You turned; brows furrowed, Shiro has been with you all day.

"Little Red Riding Hood over there." Shiro nods his head to Kirishima who sat at the end of the table chatting with Kaminari. You shot your eyes at Shiro.

"You fucking knew!?" You bite.

"Yeah!" Shiro laughed, "The kid looks like a 'you are here' dot, he can't sneak out of a fucking room!"

"Why didn't you stop him?"

"Because just like you, I'm stuck here and need entertainment in my life."

"We are on the verge of going to jail, how is that not enough entertainment for you, you fucking asshole!" You growled, punching his good arm.

"Ah!" Shiro cursed, leaning forward as he cradled his arm.

"What happened to him?" Katsuki stood across from you, taking Midoriya's seat as he offered the tray of food. You happily reached out for it, shooting Shiro a glare as you sat the tray down.

"He's an idiot." You replied, picking up your fork.

"Hey guys!" A sweetened voice turned everyone's head—Camie practically hopped her way beside Katsuki, Shiro raised an eyebrow watching her chest bounce.

"Hey Camie." Mina muttered, rolling her eyes as Camie placed her hand on Katsuki's shoulder.

"Guess what!?" Camie flipped her fawn-colored hair over her shoulder. "I'm moving in!"

"What?" Mina and Midoriya blinked.

"Fantastic!" Shiro raised his free arm, "We need more people with your large...personality in the dorm!"

"Why are you moving in now Camie?" Momo wondered, Camie threw a huge fit at the start of the year, not wanting to move into a small dorm room and give up her lavish lifestyle.

"Shiro." You muttered, low enough for only him to hear.

"Hm?" Shiro looked over, picking around your tray.

"If you do what I think your planning-" You look him in the eye, "-I'll set you on fire in your sleep."

"I haven't even done anything!" Shiro defends.

"Yeah-" You nod, "-but you'll bang anything with a pulse."

"Uh-!" Shiro dramatically gasps, "-that is so not true!" Shiro scoffs, "I have standards!"

"Where?" You raised an eyebrow, looking over at him, he huffed, snapping his gaze away from you and back onto Camie who spun a story of wishing to be closer to her classmates, so she decided to move into the dorms after all.

"Bull shit." Shiro rolled his eyes.

"What was that?" Camie snapped her attention to the Bullet who quickly hid his face in his cup.

"I-I said full pit!" Shiro laughed, "It's gonna be a full house!"

"That was almost painful to watch." You muttered as Camie moved her focus back to Katsuki.

"I didn't see you coming to my rescue!" Shiro whipped back.

"Gotta sink to learn how to swim." You replied.

"That doesn't make any sense!" Shiro hissed as the bell sang, signaling lunch was over.

The class buzzed with anticipation as the U.A. students stood around the Gamma Gym waiting for the new substitute teacher to show. With Aizawa still being out on sick leave, the class hasn't trained in days, and they were itching to get at each other.

As the bell rang, the gym door opened turning every head to see an older man walking over. His salt and pepper hair had been neatly combed back, he stood with straight posture and was dressed in a well fitted suit. Katsuki raised an eyebrow, hands resting in his pockets as his scarlet eyes scanned the man over—his expectations lowering.

Kaminari grumbled, "How is this dude gonna teach us anything? He looks like he's ready to crumble into dust any moment—ow!" He winced as he was smacked on the back of the head, a glowing mist of purple and blue shot past him, reabsorbed by the man's body.

"My name is Mr. Sentinel." He introduced himself.

"No way!" Midoriya gasped, "As in the Pro-Hero Sentinel!?"

"Speaking out of turn is impolite." Mr. Sentinel lectured Midoriya for the outburst.

"I'm sorry!" Midoriya quickly responded.

"Hmm." The hero didn't seem pleased, but continued, turning his attention to the clipboard in his hand. "Let's establish one thing upfront, I have no desire to be here. However, Aizawa has personally requested that I oversee your training until his return."

"Really?" Mina was stunned, Mr. Aizawa trusts someone enough to take his place?

"The initial task at hand is to engage in hand-to-hand combat." Mr. Sentinel stated, not bothering to glance away from the paper. "I have no interest in learning your names or life stories. My stay here is limited to just a few days, so let's not squander time."

"I like this guy." Shiro chuckled.

"Camie Utsushimi-" Mr. Sentinel called, "-make your way to the center of the floor. Your opponent will be (y.n) Yagi-Aizawa." Mr. Sentinel's gaze left the clipboard, fixing upon you.

"Wait-!" Mina gasped hearing your full name.

"Pro-Hero Five." Mr. Sentinel's authoritative voice cut through the whirlwind of questions your classmates had. "I've heard a lot about your team."

You held the retired hero's gaze, choosing not to respond. Shiro tensed beside you, preparing for a potential argument.

"You're a fine hero, Five." Mr. Sentinel continued, surprising Shiro, who had expected criticism. "It's a shame your team is under such intense scrutiny right now."

You give a slight nod—it wasn't everyday you ran into someone who took your team's side.

"Now, head to the floor." Mr. Sentinel directed, indicating the training area. "Let's begin."
