Chapter 79 - Chapter Eighty

"What do you mean she's missing?!" Gray's voice rose, pushing aside the tent flap as you followed the worried parents outside.

"I was just talking to Aizawa, and then I turned around, and she was gone!" Renata's voice trembled, tears in her eyes. "He's searching for her, but I don't know where she could be!"

"Hey-" Gray wrapped his arms around Renata, comforting her. "-we'll find her, I promise."

"But with all those villains around, I'm so scared something terrible might-" Renata's voice broke as she covered her face with her hands—her engagement ring glittering in the sunlight.

"Nothing bad is going to happen," You interjected firmly, catching Renata's gaze.

"(y.n)?" Renata looked at you, her eyes pleading for reassurance.

"Renata, you stay here. Gray, head south, and I'll go west," You instructed.

"But you two are still recovering, you can't just go out and do hero work!" Renata's grip tightened on Gray's arm. "What if something happens to both of you?"

"Our current status doesn't matter." You responded resolutely.

"Why ignore your status?" Renata's confusion was evident.

"Because we're family-" You turned to her, "-that's simply what we do."

"But-!"

"Your fucking kid is missing!" You snapped, anger flaring in your eyes. "Shut the hell up and let us do our damn jobs!" With a fierce glare, you turned on your heel, not waiting for a response. Your eyes glowed yellow as you stepped into the nearby tent's shadow, plunging into the cool, dark atmosphere within.

You quickly navigated through The Deep's labyrinth of windows, your search becoming increasingly frantic as you scanned various scenes to find the missing child. Oxygen was becoming a precious commodity, your lungs begging for relief from this poisonous sea.

You were considering returning to the medical tent where Shiro and Renata awaited, a sudden burst of pink caught your eye and urged you to backtrack. In the room, Kana cried as you spotted her taking refuge behind an overturned table. Relief washed over you – she was alone.

Stepping into the room you approached Kana with a reassuring smile, "Kana, it's ok I'm here-" You were abruptly interrupted by an intense flash of light that seared your vision, you stumbled backwards. Blinking through the disorienting brightness, you found two figures laughing together sadistically at your disarray.

"What is this-?" You growled, frustration tingeing your voice. "-some buddy system you morons have? Kana get behind me-!" You turned to the little girl hugging herself.

Kana, trembling, rose to her feet, her tear-filled eyes reflecting an iridescent glow as she swiftly turned and, to your astonishment, pulled out a gun. The sharp sound of a gunshot echoed through the room as searing pain surged through your side. Your gaze fell to your abdomen, where the syringe was steadily releasing its contents. A cold apprehension seized you.

"Aunt (y.n)-?" Kana's voice quivered, a mix of innocence and distress as your eyes returned to normal. "Oh!" Her face contorted with regret, and the gun slipped from her grasp as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry!" She sobbed; her voice heavy with the weight of coercion. "They forced me, Aunt (y.n)! I'm sorry-!"

Kana's wails seemed to merge with the rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins as the drug's effects took hold. The rims of your eyes began to radiate a faint glow, the light quickly spreads, consuming your entire eye.

Harnessing the newfound energy, you unleashed a surge of freezing power, propelling Kana forcefully into the wall. In an instant, a dome of ice encased her, capturing her within its frozen grasp.

As the tension drained from your body, you stood amidst the aftermath. A sense of liberation flowed through you, sweeping away your worries and stress. A twisted smile graced your lips as you contemplated the surreal experience, a testament to the peculiar abilities that coursed through your veins.

"Behold the great Five-!" The man's laughter echoed, his tone dripping with mockery. "-our very own personal Bullet now!"

"Absolutely!" The second villain chimed in enthusiastically, a glint of ambition in his eyes. "With you on our side, we're finally destined for greatness!"

You inhaled deliberately, allowing the air to steady your focus, your iridescent eyes locking onto the two insignificant pests before you. Raising your hand, a controlled gust of wind erupted, propelling the duo backwards with an impactful force.

"What the hell-!" They choked on their words, struggling against the unseen current. "You...You must obey us!"

"Yeah!" The other one concurred, his voice a mix of arrogance and desperation. "You're indebted to us since we gave you the trigger!"

A wry smile tugged at your lips as you cocked your head, a mischievous glint in your eyes. Raising your hand again, you pressed the gale even harder, watching their futile attempts to withstand the pressure.

"Listen to us!"

"You thought to convert a Bullet it would be that easy?" Your voice dripped with amusement, a taunting edge slicing through the air as you advanced towards them.

"How can you resist the drug's effects?" They gasped, incredulous. "We saw your scared reaction to being shot with it!"

"Scared?" You flashed your teeth, "Hardly." Your laughter mixing with the room's tension. "All you managed to do was make me fall off the wagon."

"How-How are you not going crazy right now?!"

"You really walked in here today not knowing a damn thing!" You laughed.

"What does that mean!?"

"The Seven Bullets are the ones who controlled the drugs trade for years-" You smiled, "-it's like decaf to us now."

"That's...no!" The villain shook his head as his confusion grew. "We were told...you have to listen to us!"

"I am going to really enjoy everything-" You pulled a knife from your cargo pants. "-that I'm about to do to you." Your eyes glittering with a dangerous intensity, panic seized them as you approached, their pleas ringing hollow in your ears.

"No-!"

"Please, spare us-!"

As your gaze danced with sadistic delight. Your triumph was cut short, with swift precision, the two were bound in a restraining cloth, slamming them against the wall until they succumbed to unconsciousness.

You stared at the two confused until the binding cloth wrapped around you, your weakened leg rendering you unable to evade. The glow in your eyes flickered off as darkness momentarily overtook your vision.

"Aizawa." Your voice dripped with disdain, your gaze meeting the hero by the open window.

"(y.n) stop-" Aizawa warned, "-this isn't a line you want to cross."

"I've already crossed it." A twisted smile playing on your lips.

Aizawa's frown deepened, "Then it's a line you've already come back from, don't back track into something you'll regret."

"Bold to assume I care." Your smile remained unyielding. "You've met my siblings, guess I'm not so different after all."

"You are (y.n), fight this-!"

"Save your sentimental speeches for someone who actually gives a damn."

"(y.n), it's the drug speaking."

"Do yourself a favor, Aizawa, and leave."

"I'm not leaving you."

"Take the damn kid and go."

"Kid?" Aizawa's face twisted, you nodded over to the ice dome behind you. "Kana's in there?"

You confirm with a nod.

"You placed her there before the drug took hold." Aizawa's realization struck him. "You did it to protect her."

"Oh, bite me!"

"You didn't want to hurt your niece!"

"You give me too much credit Aizawa-" You laugh, "-it's common knowledge kids aren't worth any points, they're a waste of time to off, unless you're getting paid too."

"You protected Kana-"

"Nah." You shrugged. "I was gonna leave her in there to suffocate or freeze to death, which ever came first."

"This is the drug talking."

"You can tell yourself what you want-" You shrug. "-we both know your lying to make yourself feel better."

"(y.n)-"

"This is your last chance Aizawa."

"I'm not leaving you (y.n). You're my kid-!" Aizawa declared, his voice firm. "-I know we've never formally talked about it but-" He was cut off by your bitter laughter.

"Aizawa, if you release me now-" You lock eyes with him. "-I'm going to slice your throat open then put a bullet in your skull."

"I'm not leaving."

"Then let's see what can last longer, the drug or your ability to not blink."

Aizawa remained silent.

"We both know I'll move faster than you can get your quirk back up and running."

Aizawa's grip on the binding cloth tightened around the two villains and you. Frustration was etched across his face as he locked eyes with you. He couldn't recognize the person staring back at him, and it pained him to witness how far you had truly fallen.

A faint chuckle escaped your lips, a triumphant glint in your eyes; it was a thrill to see you were getting under his skin.

"Tick tock Aizawa," You taunted, a knowing smile curving your lips. "I'm sure you're itching to blink by now."

A tense silence settled in the room as the standoff held its ground.

"How are you managing to maintain this control?" Aizawa questioned, hearing the villains call it Trigger, he knew what drug you were given.

"Is that what's been puzzling you?" You retorted, raising an eyebrow. "You could've just asked me."

Aizawa remained quiet, his gaze focused on you.

"The first time we were held down while a needle was jammed into our necks. The second and third time, we didn't fight so much. After that...we fought to get in line."

"You were forced-" Aizawa begins to state.

"You hold me in this rose-colored light, and I don't know why. You only knew me for a few months."

"It was long enough for you to become my kid."

Your laughter echoed, a mix of irony and disbelief.

"Fuck-" You say, "-that's just...pathetic. I knew you were a disappointment as a hero—which is why your teaching—but what kind of self-respecting man is such a failure the only shot he has to a family is to pick up a stray from the street?" You double over laughing. "It's-It's pretty funny."

"(y.n), just fight through it-"

"I mean-" You cut him off, struggling to mask your laughter, "-even Shiro has a better personality than you!"

"Shiro-!" Aizawa's voice carried a note of desperation, a sudden realization sparking in his mind—a potential avenue to connect with you despite the poison surging through your veins.

"Oh, don't do that-" You smirked, your expression sly. "-thinking you can use him as a glimmer of hope. He's next on my list, right after I've gut you. Gray's next, followed by that little class of yours, I've got quite the agenda."

Aizawa's anger flared. "You won't get anywhere near my students."

A mischievous hum escaped your lips as you shifted your stance. "Oh, is that how it is? Are you starting to see me as a villain now? Aizawa, you're quite the salty one!"

"I-"

"You need to pick a side, sunshine," You grinned, a wicked twist to your lips. "Am I your cherished kid or a looming threat?"

"It's the-"

"Drugs?" You cocked your head, a hint of mockery in your tone. "Is that what you were about to say? Feeling any better with that excuse?"

Aizawa remained silent, his inner conflict palpable.

"Your eyes must be burning," You chuckled, the sound dripping with amusement. "Like a dry heat being blown directly on them. Can you feel it, Aizawa? The discomfort of resisting the urge to blink?"

Aizawa chose not to engage, maintaining his silence.

"Come on!" You taunted, a glint of defiance in your eyes. "Just give in and blink, this is becoming pitiful."

"I'd sooner die than allow you to follow this path." Aizawa's voice held a resolute determination.

"It seems like that day has arrived." You mused, a mixture of mockery and intrigue in your tone.

"This is the drug talking." Aizawa asserted, attempting to rationalize the situation.

"Are you really that certain?" You pondered, a touch of skepticism in your voice. "After all, they say drunk thoughts often reveal sober feelings."

Aizawa's attention shifted abruptly as the two villains ensnared in his capture weapon began to rouse from unconsciousness. Each of them stirred, attempting to free themselves from their binding restraints. Irritation flickered across Aizawa's face as they started spouting off insults and threats.

Without wasting a second, Aizawa swiftly closed the distance between them. His brow furrowed in annoyance at this unnecessary distraction, something he couldn't afford during a mission of this magnitude. With a stern expression, he raised his boot and slammed it down onto one of the villains, effectively silencing their vile words. He then moved on to the next, determined to neutralize any potential threats swiftly and efficiently.

Aizawa's eyes widened in disbelief, feeling your restraints go slack. Slowly Aizawa turned he watched you step out of his scarf, which had coiled around your feet like a protective serpent. The shock of the moment rendered him momentarily speechless.

"Oof-" You exclaimed casually, as if emerging from his capturing weapon was an everyday occurrence. -they're going to be feeling that in the morning."

Aizawa's expression darkened, his tone stern as he called out your name, "(y.n)." It was a warning, a command for you to stay back.

"What's the matter Aizawa?" You ask with feigned innocence, your unsettling smile never wavering as you continued your slow stride towards him. "Cat got your tongue?"
