Chapter 71 - Chapter Seventy Two

Bakugo cocks his head to the side, "-what's it gonna be Princess?"

You cleared your throat, swallowing the lump in your throat as you sit up, hand slowly sliding towards the clothing.

"That's my good girl." Bakugo grins, "I'll be outside, you have five minutes."

"Bastard." You mumbled under your breath glaring at Bakugo's back as he strolls out of the room. The blond hero stepped into the hallway, shutting the door behind him as he does—standing guard—crossing his arms over his chest.

Bakugo exhales, his breath shaky as he tugs at his waist band, replaying you caged underneath him—right where you belonged.

"Fuck." He whispers, pants tightening further.

"Bakugo-!" A high-pitched voice causes the blond to jump, uncomfortably adjusting himself before turning around.

Toru bounced down the hall, sporting short shorts and a tight tank top.

"-what are you doing?"

"(y.n) is changing." Bakugo replied, clearing his throat.

"Oh-!" Toru nods, "-Shiro is still with Gray?"

"I don't know." Bakugo frowns, "What do you want?"

"O-Oh-!" Toru stuttered, her heart instantly skipping, staring up into those scarlet eyes. "-I-I um, just-just wanted to ask you something."

"Ok?" Bakugo glared down as Toru twirled a lock of her hair.

"Are you gonna spit it out or not!?" Bakugo growled, feeling his five minutes ticking by.

"I-I was just wondering if um..." Tour shyly smiles, "...you'd come with me to the Star Festival tomorrow?"

"Hah?" Bakugo blinked, looking down at the minuscule hero.

"We could go, you know...together...?"

"Yeah-" Bakugo clears his throat, "-the whole class is going together."

"Well yeah, but I was kinda hoping that we could go togeth-" Toru cut herself off as Bakugo's door opened behind him, you stood in the doorway.

Bakugo's chest tightened seeing you in his favorite skull shirt.

"(y.n)!" Tour fakes a sugar smile, "You look...refreshed."

"How?" You furrowed your brows, eyes flickering between the two. "Am I interrupting something?"

"Yes-"

"No." Bakugo cuts Toru off, lightly pushing you back into his room as he follows suit.

"Wait-" Toru calls after Bakugo, he glanced over his shoulder. "-why is (y.n) in your room and not hers?"

"Shiro is busy." Bakugo replied, closing the door in her face.

"What was that about?" You raised an eyebrow.

"Nothing." Bakugo retorts, "The damn extra is bugging me about the festival tomorrow."

"The Star Festival?"

"Yeah." Bakugo shrugs, grabbing the remote. "You know about it?"

"I was forced to be a front-" You smirk, "-I didn't live under a rock, are you going?"

"I was thinking about staying here..." Bakugo mumbled, glancing over to you.

"Shame." You shrug. "We're going."

"We're?" Bakugo frowns, "Shiro and Gray?"

"Yeah."

"Oh."

"You should come." You move to the bed, Bakugo's eye widened, did you just invite him?

"Uh, sure."

"You can watch the train wreck while it happens."

"Train wreck?"

"Gray is bringing his fiancée and kid-" You explained, "-Shiro's bringing his brother."

"That sounds..." Bakugo trailed off, "...like it could be fun?"

"Liar." You smirked, nodding towards the television. "Play the damn show."

"Get in my damn bed." Bakugo laughs, flicking the lights off.

"Fucking needy-" You mutter climbing onto the bed, you frown, tilting your head seeing only one pillow. "-you had two." You pointed.

"What?"

"You had two pillows."

"No, I didn't."

"Yeah, you did."

"No, I didn't."

"Yes-"

"It's my room-!" Bakugo takes his place on the edge of the bed, plopping his head on the pillow. "-I think I would know!" You glared at him.

"Fine-" You shrug, "-I'm the guest, you give me the pillow."

"What?" Bakugo chuckled, catching your hand in his, "No way."

"Am I supposed to sleep like a peasant then?" You cocked your head to the side, Bakugo grinned thinking back to your bare bed, how you wanted a pillow now.

"I guess-" Bakugo glanced around his room. "-we can figure something out; we are two smart individuals..."

"I'm stealing Shiro's-" You moved to get up, but Bakugo caught your shoulder, pulling you onto him, your head landed on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm tightly around your waist.

"This will have to work for now." Bakugo placed his free hand behind his head after hitting play. "Can you see the TV?" Bakugo glanced down.

"Mhm." You swallowed, refusing to look up, face heating as you struggled to ignore how your stomach tightened.

"Good." Bakugo grinned, turning as sound from the TV spilled into the room.

The episode played through, the entertaining colors couldn't keep your mind from floating back to the warmth on your cheek from Bakugo's chest, or the lullaby his heartbeat played, you wanted to ignore the feel of his arm locked around you, but the longer you stayed entangled in his grasp, the harder it was to ignore how good it felt.

You inhaled, his scent of caramel and melted sugar sent a sting ripping through your chest. You squeezed your eyes shut, almost feeling the restraints on your wrist from the old wooden chair they strapped you to when they removed your quirks. You hid inside the memory of Bakugo and focused on his scent, only for him to never storm the castle—

"Shh-" Bakugo groggily groaned, rolling over onto his side, wrapping both arms around you, feeling your tense form. "-I'm right here, I'm right by your side." Your eyes widened, heart skipping a few beats feeling him kiss the side of your head.

After a moment, you untensed your frame, shoving your face into his neck allowing yourself to get lost inside his touch, slowly your eyes drifted closed on their own account, where you were thrown into a much-needed dreamless pit.

Shiro yawned, it took too long to talk Gray off the cliff, he shook his head, what the hell was he thinking, trying to take a deal like that? Shiro ran a hand through his damp hair, now he had to deal with you, and your stubborn ass, he pushed your door open.

"(y.n) we gotta talk-" Shiro blinked, staring into the empty room his chest instantly tightened not seeing you sulking in the corner. Spinning on his heel he dashed next door, swinging open Bakugo's bedroom door, only to be met with another punch to the gut.

"What in the-?" Shiro's mouth hung open, brain short circuiting seeing you entangled in Bakugo's sheets. "-fuckury is this!?"

Bakugo cracked an eye open, lazily turning to Shiro—a smirk instantly flourished—Bakugo turned, pulling a hand from around you, flipping off the seventh bullet before returning it to its place holding you tight against him.

"Oh-" Shiro scoffed, exiting the room. "-it's on bitch."

Bakugo smiled, feeling victorious he snuggled his face into your hair, closing his eyes thinking about tomorrow, spending the day with you at the Star Festival—the door slammed open, Bakugo jumped up. Shiro trotted in, a smug grin scribbled on his face as he held his balled up blanket and pillow.

"What-?" Bakugo frowned, about to question the bullet's motives until Shiro whipped the pillow into Bakugo's face. "-oof-!" Bakugo growled, ripping the pillow from his face. "-oh, hell no-!" Bakugo points as Shiro steps on the bed.

"Move over." Shiro shoved Bakugo, who had to grip the headboard to not fall off.

"-you're on my leg!" Bakugo curses as Shiro settles in right in-between Bakugo and you.

"You're being dramatic." Shiro whispers.

"Get out of my bed!" Bakugo glares.

"You're going to wake her." Shiro gestures to you, taking his pillow from Bakugo he plops his head down, leaving Bakugo sitting up with his jaw hanging open. A whimper escaping your lips snapped his scarlet eyes, Shiro sits up, inspecting you.

"What did you do!?" Bakugo growls.

"Hush shortcake." Shiro brushes the concern off, wrapping an arm around your waist, he pulls you against him. Bakugo instantly frowns, he was the only man who could hold you.

"What the hell are you-!?"

"Do you want a spanking?" Shiro looks over his shoulder. "Shut the hell up and go to bed, you're making us breakfast in the morning."

Bakugo quickly shifted his gaze towards you, he clenched his teeth, a twinge of discomfort running through his jaw as he followed the instructions, gradually easing himself back into a lying position. Yet, his mind remained unsettled, plagued by persistent queries.

Had he misunderstood the dynamics between you and Shiro?

Could there possibly be an undercurrent he had failed to perceive, similar to the inkling he had about the connection between you and that bird-brained individual?
