Albert Wellspring was a simple man plagued with misfortune but that did not keep him down but rather made him grateful and humble and let him enjoy the little things in life that kept him going.
He had met the love of his life at his lowest and with her, he had made it through the worst of his life winning a small fortune and a source of steady income from the incident.
They were planning the next phase of their life but were denied that opportunity when they learned that Emilia had a problem with her reproductive system. Which had broken her but they pushed through the pain and decided to adopt a child then they stumbled upon the foster system and read a few articles about it and decided to enroll in it instead.
William Hopebringer was a bundle of pain and sadness when he came into their lives. Desperately searching for a bond but too afraid to reach out for one. But slowly he and Emilia were able to bond with him over 5 years breaking into his little shell and finally meeting the wonderful child he was underneath all that pain. They had plans to adopt him but tragedy struck again when both he and his wife started developing cancer they tried to hide it but William found out and surprised them when he immediately found them a sponsor that not only agreed to pay for their treatment but also his education by accepting to impersonate the sponsor's son.
They had tried to protest and dissuade him. Still, he had managed to persuade them instead with both convincing and emotional arguments thus leaving them no choice, and after the drama was done the three of them had an emotional breakdown each grateful to have the others in their lives. They had made peace with the fact.
So, when he opened his eyes and saw his wife looking healthier and more beautiful than he had seen her in years, with the light from the morning sun making her hair glow which left her looking like a goddess. He forgot to breathe.

Emilia Wellspring was a normal woman. True she had some 'Adventures' during her youth and had since turned over a new leaf. She had met her husband one day when she was working at a cafe and things had started to look bright in her life. She had someone who had accepted her despite her past and treated her with the love and care she had lost from her parents. He even helped her patch things with her parents that's how wonderful of a man he was. They had their fair share of problems in their early marriage but they had overcome them together and now they were well off and happy.
Given the circumstances, they were in and the little lucky streak they were having they decided it was time for the next step in their relationship a child but that was not to be her 'Adventures' had damaged her womb to the point where she could no longer have kids and that had devastated her to the point where everything was dull and colorless for her again it was her husband that brought her out of that and helped her move on. They decided to adopt a child when they were searching for the nearest orphanage they had stumbled upon the foster care system and after a brief discussion decided to enter it instead.
William Hopebringer was the first and only child assigned to them and she had for all intent and purpose taken him in as her own. She resonated with his pain and loss and together with her husband they had managed to sneak into his shell and form a bond with him and pulled him out of his depression. They had finally started to become a happy family and Albert had the idea of formally adopting him but tragedy stuck the couple again when both of them started to develop some kind of rare cancer.
They had tried to hide it from William but he had pieced together what had happened and confronted them about it and they had to confess after which he became distant for a few days which hit her hard but she understood him or so she thought.
A week after the confrontation they were surprised to meet a rich man called Wilber Stocks a millionaire who runs many industries and a rather high-tech hospital he informed them William and he had reached an agreement he would pay for their treatment and William's education in mind town high school for geniuses in exchange for William impersonating his son Wilber when he attends the school. The couple were so shocked that they simply thanked the man after which he left.
They had then confronted William which resulted in a fight and a huge family drama at the end of which all three of them yelled their feelings, worries, and fears at each other and had gotten closer as a family as a result and reached a sort of compromise where Willam fulfills his part of the deal but he can not reject anything they do for him.
After some time she had made peace with the fact that she was dying and she resolved to spend as much time as she can with her family she could and set up a surprise for William once he either graduated or they died.
With that resolve, she opened her eyes to see a man who looked like a handsomer version of her husband slowly turning red due to the lack of air, she screamed.
William pov
I had just slept after debating on how to face my parents. Raphael had not been any help and suggested absurd ideas such as hypnotizing them or brainwashing them while they are valid methods they are methods that are to be used on enemies or in the worst case strangers, not friends, and especially not family.
In the end, I just decided to wing it when I heard her scream. I will admit that at that moment I wasn't thing straight and my head was filled with all sorts of negative thoughts so I simply ran 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 the doors and walls without thinking of the consequences.
So when I saw that my parents were fine and looking at me like a stranger I realized what I had done and gave them an awkward smile while scratching the back of my head and said.
"Opps?"
