It was approaching time for Julie to be released from prison. Christina was going to make sure that she never saw Matt or Molly again. Christina hired a gangster to get involved with Julie. The gangster was to plant drugs on Julie and then have her arrested. The gangster Billy went to the church and began sitting next to Julie. She believed she had found the man for whom she was praying. Someone to love her and share her Christian Values. After months of dating, Julie asked Billy to go to a Christian Concert in Atlanta, Ga with her. He agreed. She purchased the tickets and booked the hotel room with two beds. Billy meets with Christina and was paid twenty thousand dollars to conduct the plan. The events of the night would change their lives forever.
Billy had fallen in love with Julie. He explained all the events that had taken place between him and Christina. While sitting on the bed talking to her, Billy showed her the money. Julie asked how he could betray her like that. Billy explained he did not betray her. He wanted to marry her. He took the money to prove that it could not buy him. He wanted Christina to pay for what she tried to do. This way she paid but did not get what she wanted. Julie was confused. She did not know if she could trust Billy or not. If Christina had gone to that extreme to keep her away from Matt, what would she do next? Billy and Julie remained friends during their prison sentence. She knew Matt had not changed, and she could not live with him anymore. She had dedicated her life to Christ and was happy. She was through with drugs and wanted to be a wonderful mother to Molly.
Billy offered to take the five thousand dollars and hire a lawyer to get custody of Molly. Billy vowed to do anything to help her get custody of Molly. He wanted them to be a family and would do nothing to jeopardize it. They could take the rest of the money and buy a home. A place of their own. Molly could grow up in the home and never have to leave. It would show stability to the judge. Julie was still confused and did not know what to think. All she could think about was being reunited with Molly. She had to make sure that evil witch did not get close to Molly. Julie took the money from Billy and hired a lawyer. The lawyer agreed to represent her. However, it would be hard for her to get custody of Molly. She was the one that caused her injuries. She cried and tell him how she had changed and that she had already asked for forgiveness. Molly would forgive her one day. She was sick and addicted to drugs. One day Molly would understand. She just had to. Christina just could not get close to Molly. She prayed for the Lord to please help her. She had to save Molly from Christina. Please help me get Molly back. I promise to be the best mother she could ever have.
Molly found herself in a twisted situation. She did not understand what was going on. First, she was with her mom and dad. Then they were separated. Now her mom and dad are fighting over her. Alice does not want to lose her after all these years. Christina was determined to do anything to be with Matt. How could a little girl be subjected to all of this? Molly was a child having to deal with adult issues. The guardian ad litem had been asking her questions. How did she feel? Where did she want to stay? Molly was afraid to say anything. She did not understand what was going on. She loves Julie, Matt, and Alice. She could not make a chose. Alice overheard the questions and told the guardian ad litem to leave and never come back. We should never put Molly in the position to choose. She was only a little girl. It was a problem for the adults to work out and not involve Molly. Molly already had enough to deal with. The guardian ad litem reported back to Jody what happened. Jody took the case herself. She wanted to have control over the outcome.
Jody wanted so desperately to be with Client. If Matt got custody of Molly, he would need Christina to help him. Christina would ask Client for a divorce so she could be with Matt. If Client were divorced, it would give her an opportunity to have a relationship with him. She knew he would fall in love with her. They would get married, and she could have the family she always wanted. With her input in the custody case, she could use it to her advantage. All she needed was for Matt and Christina to get married. Jody had hired a mobster to take shots at Matt. She pretended to be Julie when she arranged for the mobster to shoot Matt. If anyone ever found out, all the evidence would lead to Julie. This would take Julie out of the picture and leave Matt free for Christina. Her plan was working perfect. Julie no longer wanted to be with Matt.
The judge heard the child custody case. Jody recommended Matt obtain custody of Molly. Alice hired a lawyer and petitioned the court for custody of Molly. She could provide a better home than Julie or Matt could. Her lawyer presented to the judge. Julie was the reason for Molly's injuries. Matt could not provide a loving home for her. Someone was out to kill him and had already shot at him twice. Julie's lawyer showed she had changed. She attended habitation while in prison. She was no longer a drug addict. Alice only wanted what was best for Molly, and that was to remain with her. The judge ordered that Matt and Julie could have visitation, but Alice would have custody of Molly. The case would remain with the Department of Children and Families and would be reviewed in one year.
Matt never really wanted custody of Molly, anyway. He just did not want Julie to have her. Everything worked out the way he wanted. Molly would still be with Alice. Christina would continue to pay all the bills and satisfy his sexual desires. A man could not ask for anything else. Alice was happy she had custody of Molly. Christina was happy she made sure Julie would not get custody of Molly. Christian was mad that Billy had betrayed her and did not frame Julie. Everything worked out anyway. Julie would never be with Matt. Billy and Julie were getting married. She could not ask for a better outcome.
Jody was upset about the outcome. Matt and Christina would never get married now. Jody could not bear the hurt that she felt inside. She believed it possessed her with evil. On a long, dark, rainy night, Jody cried like she had never. All the feelings of sadness in her surfaced. The pain was more than she could bear. Jody took pain pills to make the pain go away. The pain lingered on for hours. She felt the pain would never go away. She lay in the bed. The pain subsided. Her breathing slowed down. Eventually, the life had left her body. Jody had overdosed to stop the pain.
The front page of the paper was an article Jody had committed suicide. Christina was in the hospital. Someone had stabbed her five times in the shoulder. Matt was afraid he would be the next on the list to die. First Jody. Someone tried to kill Christina. Christina was in a comma and could tell no one what happened. Months later, the doctor consulted with Client and informed him Christina was brain dead and would never recover. Client hired a lawyer because Christina had a living will. Matt had taken Christina's money and hired a lawyer to stop Client from pulling the plug. Matt had convinced Christina to give him the power of attorney to have access to the money in her bank account. Over a period of years, she hid millions of dollars in an account. Client knew nothing about. She had been planning to divorce Client as soon as the children were in high school. She knew with not Client she could not support herself. Client had so much money he never checks his bank account. He never missed ten thousand dollars a month. Occasionally, when questioned about it. She told Client she donated it to charity, and she was sure he would not mind. They then tasked client with the going to court and having the judge decide if the plug could be pulled.
Matt wanted her alive. He would have access to the bank account if she were alive. If he took the money out of the account, that would be all of it. If he left the money in the account, it would draw interest and he would have more money. The only way Client could get the money is if she were dead. Then he would inherit the money. When the case came before the judge. Matt made it look like Client wanted her dead so he could get the money. The children were distraught every time they visited their mother in the hospital. Client wanted it over so there could be closure. Matt only wanted to keep collecting the money. He only cared about himself. The children were suffering, and he did not care. Matt told the judge she did not trust Client to do the right thing. That is why she signed the Power of Attorney over to him. Medical Power of Attorney document gives the person you name the right to make your health care decisions when you cannot make them for yourself. Your spouse has no automatic right to power-of-attorney status; every adult can choose her own health care agent. Matt continued to tell the court that the power of attorney was also Medical.
Client had never thought things would turn out this way. His wife would have to stay in a comma for years. His children would have to suffer. There was nothing he could do about it. Matt held control in his hands. He never imagined in a million-year thing would turn out like this. The results of the police investigation were final. Jody had invited Christina over to talk about being a Guardian ad Litem again. Christina came over to her house. Jody stabbed her and left her body in an alley. Someone saw her drop the body in the alley and called 911. They took Christina to the hospital. Jody had gone home and took the overdose the pain pills. While searching Jody's house, the detective found a suicide letter. She had confessed to everything. Client offered to pay Matt any price, so he would be to allow him to pull the plug. It would be over with. Christina and the children would not have to suffer any more.
