It took quite a while before what Auntie Rona has said fully registered in Valerie's mind and when it did, she immediately clutched on to her head. Valerie's knees lost its strength and she hurriedly sat on the edge of Irene's bed.
"Oh, your uncle is calling me downstairs. I have to go. Once again, congratulations dear!" Auntie Rona hugged Valerie tightly before she went downstairs to help Uncle Ryan. She was very excited and wanted to share the news but she respects Valerie's rights to do it.
Irene is wondering whether she should smile or not because of the facial expression that Valerie has on her face. Her face is pale and she was very surprised to hear the news.
"Are you alright?" Irene sits next to Valerie as she gently paths her shoulders. Still, Valerie does not say a thing and is just staring into nothing.
