Valerie was the one taking the lead on the way to the university faculty room. As expected, there are a lot of piles of paper everywhere and all the people inside each of their working cubicle are either busily typing on their computers or has furrowed eyebrows reading through a paper on their hands.
The faculty room smelled like old books, papers, and coffee combining altogether in the room and filling the air. Flipping of pages and the sound the blades of the electric fan entered Irene's sensitive ears along with the loud beating of her heart.
"Uhm," Valerie clears her throat in the pursuit of getting the attention of one of the professors in the faculty room.
One male middle-aged professor whose head is starting with a bald patch lifted his head and raised both of his eyebrows and asks, "Yes? How may I help you?" He removed his eyeglasses and squinted his eyes. He leaned on his swivel chair and waited for Valerie to answer.
