As soon as the backseat door of the car opened, Amiel's feet were immediately rooted to the ground. He turned to leave as soon as he saw Irene but Valerie shouted at him saying, "Come back, Amiel! It's okay!" She assures him.
He bit his lower lip and it is clear that Amiel is skeptical to sit beside Irene. Today is the first time they have met each other since Irene arrived from her vacation trip abroad.
Amiel looks at Irene, he is hesitant to join because she might not be comfortable around him. Moreover, he did not know that Irene will be in this trip too.
When Lucas and Valerie invited him, all they told him was that they will be spending the weekend in the countryside. That was all which is why he was utterly surprised to see Irene in the backseat.
