Zhao Shu didn't have much business in the capital, but he intended to assist Qiao Xuan and Shao Yunduan with anything they might need help with. He also aimed to gather information about the city.
Shao Yunduan had cautioned him against mingling with the nobility to inquire about court matters or about the Crown Prince and other princes. Zhao Shu kept this in mind, but he had no qualms about seeking information on other topics.
Shao Yunduan and Qiao Xuan resided in a place like Anze Province, thus lacking extensive knowledge of the capital's affairs. Given Shao Yunduan's sensitivity, probing into the capital's intermediate matters could have dire consequences if discovered. Yet, Zhao Shu had little to fear. It was more beneficial for him to learn about the situation and share it with them than to remain ignorant.
Back in Shaoding Village, Shao Liulang participated in this year's Examination as planned.
