The shuttle glided almost silently underwater. For Noboru, it was the first time ever being underwater. Despite the shuttle's dimmed light not even reaching ten meters, he could see the outlines of rocks and grass. He noticed, however, that there was no wildlife.
"Are there… no fish here?" He naively asked.
Lifen shook her head, placing her finger on her lips. Noboru then noticed how everyone was silent.
Without talking to each other, the shuttle's captain and Qian coordinated an ascent. Eventually, the shuttle broke through the water, hovering mere centimeters above the calm ocean surface.
Once they continued their journey above the water, the Qilin Clan members all exhaled deeply.
"Underwater, we're sitting ducks for the Kelpie," Lifen explained. "They can hear even whispered conversations."
"But the shuttle's noise…?"
