Chapter 2 - A New World

'What?!' Roy looked around in confusion 'Where am I?!' The originally loud and boisterous crowd had completely disappeared. What appeared in its stead was....

"Professor are you alright?" Roy looked to the source of the voice to see a studious looking girl with concern looking at him with concern.

'Professor?' Roy studied his new environment more closely and came to the conclusion...'I am in a classroom!' It was obvious what with the tables and chairs full of students and a chalkboard that had far to much writing on it. The room was shaped like a classroom as well! All of the students sat facing him and the chalkboard behind him. To the right of the classroom along the walls were ornate windows.

He looked down and found that what he was wearing was different too! 'What in the world is going on?' Roy tried to collect himself "Erm um I am alright but why did you call me professor?"

The girl looked at him with confusion "You are professor Zafar Bedlam of the Grand Marshal Magic academy, no?"

'Zafar? That dude from Aladdin?' When Roy looked at the other students he could see the same confusion written all over their faces. Roy felt lost. While he was thinking he subconsciously looked out the window to his right and caught glance of a person flying by.

'Eh?' He hurried over to the window ignoring the confounded students and looked out the window. Roy gasped as he took in the sight outside. Outside was a flying castle. Or it would be better to say that he himself is on a flying castle! The castle was on a floating island and all around were clouds. Ever so often he could see land far below the clouds.

Roy grasped his head 'This is impossible! It defies what is logically possible! Its basically....' He looked up in realization. He looked over at the girl "Did you say Magic Academy?" his voice shaky and unsure.

The girl nodded "The Grand Marshal Magic Academy, yes." She paused "Are you sure you're alright teacher? That spell you casted earlier might have deteriorated your memory perhaps?"

Slowly the pieces that were laid out in front of Roy came together. 'So I've transmigrated then.' A wave of sadness overcame him but carefully kept it in. Thoughts rapidly shuttled through his head and he was soon greeted with a sharp pain in his mind. Along with the pain a vast flood of information shot through his brain. He tried to take in all the information but it was for naught. He held his head and fell to the floor.

"The professor! Quick someone call a healer!" Voices of panicked students soon spread through the class. Several students ran over to him and stopped Roy from falling all the way to the floor.

Roy had no time to worry about what the students were doing as he did everything in his power to not pass out from the overflow of information.

"Go get a healer!" One voice said. "I'll go!" Roy closed his eyes and did his best to withstand the pain.

"Yes, the professor is in here, madam healer!" The familiar voice of the girl gave Roy newfound hope.

'A healer?' From the vast amount of information he found that a healer is just that. A person that heals wounds with magic. The powerful ones can even heal the mind and soul as well. He opened his eyes slightly and could see a woman rushing over to him with a worried look on her face.

A cool sensation permeated Roy's head releasing the pain. Kneeling next Roy was a woman of what could only be described as a supreme beauty. She was wearing a long white dress decorated in golden acrylics. Her soft black hair flowed down past her shoulders to her mid back. Her eyes like a bright sunflower in a field grass. Her tanned skin was flawless, without a single blemish. She had a soft girl next door vibe. Worry was written all across her face as she looked at him.

Roy looked at her dumbfounded.

The Woman blushed and looked away. "Ahem." she coughed "Betrothed are you alright?"

'Betrothed!?' Roy was shocked "With such a gorgeous woman as my soon to be wife how could I not be fine?"

'Ah? Did I say that out loud?' Roy looked at the woman only to see that her cheeks were tinted a red hue.

"Ah-" Roy searched through his newly received memories and found all that he needed to know.

The body he was inhabiting or took over goes by the name of Zafar Bedlam. He was the heir to the Bedlam family. The Bedlam family was of the noble Viscount rank. Zafar had been engaged to a woman from another Viscount family but Zafar's heart had been stolen. So, he opposed the political marriage the family arranged. The head allowed Zafar to marry anyone he so choose but the condition being he had to become a professor at the prestigious Grand Marshal Academy. So, Zafar worked tirelessly not unlike Roy in his previous world and eventually got the opportunity to become one. He completed all of the difficult tasks one by one. All he was left with was teaching one class and having at least a 50% pass rate. This was the easiest requirement for becoming a official professor so he was already considered a professor by the school and all of its peerage. Thus, he completed the task assigned to him, he choose his partner. The love of his life Vislania Melody. Status wise he would never have been able to marry her as she was a part of the 'peasantry' even though she was an accomplished healer. And so the two were successfully engaged.

The reason he transmigrated to this body was because the previous Zafar was demonstrating some new magic he had developed. During the demonstrations a slight mistake cause the spell to go horrendously wrong and destroy Zafar's soul and transport Roy's soul to this body.

Roy quickly stood up and came to a quick conclusion. In short he was screwed! This seemingly perfect life works well however there was one catch. All of the magic knowledge that he needed to teach was gone! If he couldn't teach this class and get the correct pass rate he would not be able to marry Vislania and there was a possibility that his family would appoint one of his brothers as the heir to that family as well.

Once he lost the position as heir its very possible he could get assassinated by the new heir so solidify their position. At the realization he felt a cold sweat throughout his body.

He shook his head 'Now is not the time to be thinking like that! First I must resolve this current situation. If a bad rumor went around the school about him it might negatively impact his chance to become a professor.'

Roy looked at the students gossiping as they stood gathered around him. "Ahem." he coughed to get their attention.

They turned to look at him all quieting down. "Now you see the dangers of creating your own spells! Although I am an accomplished mage, creating spells must be done in the most rigorous and methodical manner to avoid danger. Had that been a more dangerous spell the aftereffect would not have been what you just saw but even death."

Roy did his best to seem like a professional teacher by copying the way his PHD professors talked when he attended their classes.

At his words the students eyes all lit up and they quickly nodded to each other. They all went back to their seats and started to write furiously on their papers.

'Hopefully that worked.' Roy felt anxious but he held it in expertly. He walked over to Vislania and gave her a hug and whispered into her ear "Thank you for your help my love. I will see you later." Vislania blushed but she nodded and quickly scuttled away.

Although he transmigrated, all of the emotions Zafar had towards others seemed to transfer in some degree. Towards this future wife for example, he had an extreme love and desire for her. He also felt the love Zafar had towards friends and family.

Roy sighed to himself 'Its a pity that spell went wrong my friend....your life was truly going in a wonderful direction. I will do my best to preserve the life that you strived for.'

Stealing his resolve he walked over to the board and looked at all what was written on the board. Looking at the writing he couldn't help but be shocked!

"This- this is physics?!"
