Ten Thousand Buddhas Temple.
Buddha Bathing Festival.
It is said that there were once no Buddhas in this world, until a king ushered in a Buddha statue, expending all his wealth to cast a golden body for the Buddha, and then using spring water from Tianshan to offer a bath, greeting it grandly into the capital; hence the origin of this festival.
In the square in front of Buddha Forest,
many monks from various prefectures converged, all of them gentle and kind, their hands pressed together in prayer.
In a more distant place, martial artists who had come to watch the ceremony crowded the area.
