A peculiar college woman.
Her name, Ayaka.
Ayaka, is someone who always had an interest in psychology.
Afternoon,
Ayaka can be seen walking through the halls passing by empty classes. Suddenly in the corner of her eyes, a man, presumably around her age. Sitting there alone. It looks as if he were praying as he's holding onto a box cutter pointed towards his arm as if he were about to slit his wrist.
"H-hey,what are you doing there?"Ayaka calling out to him
Startling him, and he drops the box cutter. Ayaka approaches his table and sits across him.
"Say, what made you want to cut yourself?, and from what I can see you've not cut yourself before" Ayaka asked him with curiosity
Him unnerved, he gets up and turns away. Ayaka can obviously see that he's tearing up. Ayaka calls out to him again but this time he ran out of the room.
Ayaka bothered, she had just witnessed an attempt at suicide. Ayaka had prevented it but something doesn't sit right with her. Who was he? What was his motive? Why did he do it?
Questions unanswered. Nothing Ayaka could do because she doesn't have any lead as to who that was. All she can do for now is head home.
Walking home,
Ayaka passes by a small park that is the middle point of her college and home. The park, run down but still a resting area for many of the elderly. An old man that lives nearby sits on the bench. This old man used to babysit Ayaka.
"Old man, how are you doing. We haven't seen eachother since I enrolled for college" Ayaka excited
"This old man?, Never better. Hmm? sweetie, is something the matter" The old man asks
Though this man is old he took care of Ayaka as if she were his own. The old man knows her well, down to even her minute expressions.
"Mmhmm, well yeah something's bothering me" Ayaka explains the situation
After Ayaka had explained the situation. The old man man seemed a little uneasy. Worried as the old man is regularly calm even in any situation, Ayaka asks the old man if something was wrong.
"What you just said, it's an old folklore of our little town" the old man replied
The old tale
On the count of 3,
The calling begins,
All to serve is tea,
Served with grins,
At the final call of 7,
There is no light,
All paths lead to heaven,
do not fright
"It's getting dark out you should head home, don't wanna worry your mother" the old man grinning
"Huh what does that tale mean?" Ayaka asking herself
HOME,
"Moooooommmm!!!!! I'm Home!!!"
Ayaka shouting
"Yes sweetie how was your day" mom asks
"Hey so mom, can I ask you about an old tale the old man told me" Ayaka curious
Ayaka proceeds to tell her mother which tale the old man was speaking of.
The smile from her mothers face had diminished. The tale, it meant that who meets the grinning server of tea will surely die on the 7th day.
It refered to a welcoming death.
Ayaka's mother clearly uncomfortable speaking of it but she brushes it off and tells you to head to bed.
