I did not understand what was going on and why she would refuse our dinner date at the nock of time.
We stare at each other for the longest time that could have been less than a minute. My throat is so constricted that I'm vaguely grateful I'd decided against the suit and bow tie. I was dressed in a crisp, lightest pink, almost white shirt, tucked in my newest dark blue jeans and a navy blue blazer on top. My accessories – wristwatch, belt, and shoes, were all caramel brown to fit the insignia on the pocket of my blazer.
However, my fashion choice isn't important here, what she said was. My gaze searched her face and the general look there was that of determination. God, should I have stayed back with her this morning, shouldn't I have gone home to, at least, take a bath?
