"I need to pay the bills," Jeff announced with a bit of impatience in his tone after arranging her dress. It was obvious he would have loved to move straight home instead of having to spend the few minutes necessary to pay the bills for their dinner.
"Yes – okay," was the only words Tess could manage to utter in a croaky gasp. She still could not believed what she had done in a restaurant. There was no way Liz and Boma would believe her when she told them. Because, there was no way she was not telling them.
