It felt like a conspiracy.
Since waking up on that hospital bed three weeks ago and seeing Jeff there looking worried, stressed and rumpled, Tess was finally admitting that there was some sort of conspiracy going on among her close people.
By the next day, after saving Bridget, the ACP had of course, given her and Egu a complimentary harangue for acting without permission.
It had been funny to see Jeff's reaction to this. He'd frowned so hard and had looked like he wanted to defend her. But Egu, with a smile on his face, had silently caught his eyes and slowly shook his head. The ACP wasn't one to mess with, besides, her harangue was actually letting them off easy. What they had done, despite having saved a young child, was something that would have attracted a suspension at least.
