Jeff's doctor had been shocked to meet him at the reception with Bridget still in uniform and covered in blood. Jeff had had to assure him that his daughter was fine and that his friend had fainted at the car park.
The only thing that had assuaged the doctor's worry had been when he'd commanded a nurse to pull off Bridget's blood covered uniform and clean her up. By the time the nurse was through, Tess had been lifted by stretcher and admitted in a room and Sara, his sister, had arrived in a flurry of tears.
