Obong Enang Enang understood the power of the media and tried as much as possible to avoid it, even though he was regarded as a local celebrity. He abhorred bad press in any form and strived to portray himself positively any chance he got, which was usually at charity and religious events.
His former driver knew to whisk him away when there was any sign that a situation might result in bad press, especially a situation that had a lot of press in attendance.
But the new driver didn't know this; he was barely a month old.
So, when he saw a crowd of young and not so young people with cameras in front of Obong Enang's country home, it was novel to him and so he sped up towards the media crowd while calling his dozing employer's attention.
