Kate had happily settled into her routine. She started her day at 5 a.m., prepared Kenny's breakfast and lunch, leaving the latter in a food flask to maintain the warmth for when he came home at noon.
Fear and uncertainty had made her kick against the idea of AK giving her lifts to work every day. But the amiable man had refused, and petulantly told Kate that she was trying to deny him his 'pleasant morning duty'.
She was afraid of what Kenny would think. But AK had laughingly told her he would not ravish her. He was just being a friend in her trying time. It sounded good but then, she was a very realistic person, and she put herself in Kenny's shoe, and didn't like what she would assume, if she were her husband.
So, she'd told Kenny about the arrangement.
