Doctor Jim Craig had not changed since the last time Mercy had seen him, which was about twenty-four hours ago. However, his looks still had her straightening her height as though him being tall made her short height too noticeable. No short person ever wanted to be showed up by some tall dude. Except Jim never did any of that; he did not show her up or seem arrogant. He was the perfect host when Mercy had showed up this morning.
But his kindness did not stop her from feeling some type of way, like he was better than her or something. Mercy knew it was her inferiority complex talking. She knew this feeling of not measuring up was hers to battle and conquers. Nevertheless, she still allowed a small part of her mind to resent the man for looking so good first thing in the morning.
